Adult Intensive Outpatient Program
San Jose Behavioral Health offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older who are in need of treatment for mental health disorders. In this program, patients can participate in flexible, person-centered care while also carrying out their daily responsibilities outside of treatment. At our outpatient treatment center in Santa Cruz, California, we strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment where patients can begin their healing journeys. Adults may enter this program directly or as a step-down to a less restrictive level of care. Typically, people remain in our IOP for eight to 12 weeks, and they attend treatment three hours a day, three days a week for the duration of their programming. Common modalities we utilize at this level of care include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and somatic therapy. Adult Partial Hospitalization Program
At our outpatient treatment center, we provide a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults age 18 and older who are battling a variety of mental health concerns, including major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and anxiety. Patients in our PHP participate in treatment for six hours a day, five days a week, and they spend an average of two to five weeks in the program. During this time, they can take part in an array of therapeutic interventions depending on their unique needs. Services in our PHP include basic medical care, medication management services, individual therapy, family counseling, and experiential therapy. We also offer process therapy, psychotherapy, and experiential group sessions that can help patients learn valuable coping strategies, enhance their communication skills, and improve their overall functioning and well-being.
