Long Term Supportive Residence
We work with individuals with diagnoses of Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, or Mood Disorders. Woodstock Manor residents range in age from their thirties to sixties. Many of the residents here choose to remain at Woodstock Manor for many years, while others move on to more independent living accommodations. We do not work with individuals with active addiction behaviors or with individuals who are currently aggressive. We are a small, highly individualized, family-like atmosphere with exceptionally trained and compassionate, creative staff members. Our Program
Woodstock Manor offers 24/7 on-site staff supervision and support, medication management and supervision, and nutritious family-style meals. We are a small residential program with a capacity of 21 people. Therapeutic and engaging activities offered on a weekly basis include dance movement, yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, gardening, art, music, cooking and nutrition, documentary and current events discussion, life skills, pet care, and meditation and mindfulness groups. Residents are always welcome to suggest groups or activities that they would like to engage in. Staff at Woodstock Manor work with each resident to develop an Individualized Action Plan to address their personal goals and build positive coping mechanisms. Creative Arts Approach
We believe that use of the creative arts supports our residents in getting in touch with their emotions, with themselves, and with others in their community. Use of mindfulness and grounding activities in our groups has been extremely effective in supporting our residents as they learn new ways of coping, interaction, and expression. Dance Movement helps residents to connect with their bodies through movement, Music through voice and sound, and Art through tactile and visual senses. The founder of Woodstock Manor, Henry Howard, was a successful Theatre Actor who developed and shaped our artistic approach. His daughter, Ricci Adan, is a professional Dancer and Choreographer who also contributed to Woodstock Manor's development and continues to direct our programs. Take the first step to help.
