I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor. I'm a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist; but I use a variety of approaches depending on my client's needs. I have been in private practice for 9 years. Prior to private practice I worked at Family Service League in Bayshore with all populations. I also worked at Stony Brook University Hospital on the Child Psychiatry Unit working with children from 4-13 years old. I currently work at Stony Brook University and had previously worked at The Juilliard School.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist working with families, couples, and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, parenting stressors, and painful family dynamics. My goal is to provide a warm and empathic therapeutic space where you feel heard and supported in your journey towards emotional growth and healing. I am bilingual and can provide services in Spanish and English.

With over 10 years of experience in building positive, healing and compassionate relationships with others in an outpatient psychiatric clinic setting, I am eager to bring my skills into private practice. I am well-versed in different treatment modalities including DBT, CBT, Trauma-informed practice and Solution-Focused therapies.

While everyone’s journey through life is unique, we ultimately all want the same thing…We ALL want to be happy. Unfortunately, happiness doesn't always come easily. Our journey is full of challenges that we have to overcome in order to get back to being happy. We experience sadness and loss. We fall completely in love only to suffer heart break. Some of us go through traumatic events such as combat or a devastating accident. These situations and many more cause us to develop feelings of fear, sadness and frustration which we do our best to manage, but typically do so in an unhealthy and maladapted way.

I help individuals with depression reclaim their joy. Many of my clients struggle like you do. Despite being intelligent, independent, and hard-working, life can be hard. When they first come in, many clients feel lost, confused, and unsure if their struggles are real or imagined. They doubt themselves, and resent their inability to change parts of themselves they dislike. They stumble their way through life, questioning every step. They beat themselves up for their failures and inability to succeed as other do. Their symptoms of hopelessness, lack of motivation, and fear of failure gets in the way of the life they want in many ways
