Oftentimes a therapist needs a therapist, and I specialize in working with therapists. I am intimately familiar with the burnout and fatigue that accompanies a therapists’ job. I love working with teenagers, college students and young adults ages 13-30. I most enjoy working with anxiety disorders (including OCD, phobias, and panic disorder), the effects of trauma, as well as LGBTQ clients. The majority of my training as a therapist has been in treating trauma, OCD and generalized anxiety. I am also a native Spanish speaker and love working with immigrant clients. A little about me... I couldn’t survive without my assortment of To Do lists. Somehow I manage to surprise myself again and again by not completing the lengthy tasks I hoped to cross off my lists. I wish I prioritized time in nature, self-care, and getting together with friends. The frenetic pace of our modern “grind culture” is a force I find challenging to resist. Despite having book knowledge on anxiety, I still have panicky moments. Through my own therapy, I am unlearning the message of hustling for my worth and aiming to embrace my limitations. I have come to learn that my triggers often end up being my best teachers.

Your relationship with yourself is reflected in interactions with family, friends, colleagues, professional life and your worldview. How do you seek, expect and provide attunement to yourself and important others? Often unrecognized inter-generational relational themes play a part in the manner of which one seeks connection. Attachment and relational patterns meant to gain closeness can mean one feels known & accepted or invisible & rejected. You can learn to listen to yourself with open-minded curiosity in order to identify your relational style, understanding how it supports or hinders you in life.

I have experience working with a wide range of clinical issues including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, self-esteem, PTSD, first responder trauma, post-partum depression, family conflicts, pre-marital counseling, polyamorous relationships, domestic violence, multiple personality disorder (DID), Asperger’s Disorder, relationship issues, identity crisis, LGBT specific problems and concerns, grief and loss, as well as people struggling with bipolar disorder. I also have experience in paranormal psychology. All sessions are telehealth/online!

Change is powerful. We all have the capacity to change, however many times people are overwhelmed by the unknown. I believe that you have the resources and problem-solving skills to affect change. Through the use of collaborative questioning I can aid in discovering solutions to your concerns. I believe change is always occurring and relatively small changes can lead to large changes. My systems base approach encourages positive thinking, for example what is working in your life, to establish therapeutic goals based on issues that are important.

My goal as a counselor is for my clients to feel safe, seen, and heard during our time together. I have a passion for providing a space filled with acceptance and support as people process hardships and begin to heal.

Myself and my clinicians aim to bring an authentic approach that includes humor, compassion, acceptance and creativity to the therapy room.

I began working in the counseling field 25 years ago. I work with individuals, couples, and families to help them heal from the difficulties of life and develop their full potential. I spent the first 7 of those years working in the addiction field. That experience gave me knowledge, insight, and compassion for individuals struggling with addictions. I also have a passion for helping couples develop strong, healthy, loving, and trusting marriages. As an adoptive father I understand the issues and challenges faced by adoptive parents. I'm experienced in treating depression, anxiety, anger, grief, and issues related to codependency.
