I am an experienced clinician who has worked in rural New England for the past 20 years. Having worked in a rural area you become experienced in working with a very deverisfied cliental.
Before going into private practice I had worked in school systems so I have a great deal of practice working with children/teens and their families. I also worked with the head start programs and preschools with children as young as two through play therapy. Once in private practice I expanded into working with PTS, anxiety, depression, adult ADHD, etc.
For most people, going to therapy can be very intimatating. How do you pick out the right therapist or the right therapy? I believe positive therapy is in the connection between the therapist and the client. Therapy should be all about the client, the safe zone, where you get to explore your own needs and issues.
