Over the course of our lives, we tend to gather trauma, baggage, and wounding that most of us don't really know what to do with. But, because you're a survivor and a fighter, you press on, live your life, and get on with things. At some point though, the weight becomes too much to bear. The anxiety won't let up, the depression won't lift, the shame won't shut up. Suddenly we find ourselves in loops of negativity and dysfunction that we can't seem to break no matter how hard we try.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in couples therapy. I have worked as a therapist in a 90-Day Residential Treatment Center, Community Mental Health, and in Private Practice. I have led therapy intensives, group therapy, taught courses at the university level, and managed a therapeutic high and low ropes course.

Willow Tree Counseling believes healing is possible for anyone, no matter how significant the trauma, if clients are willing to take a step in a different direction. Our therapists and psychiatric care team walks alongside our clients through their journeys of self-discovery, awareness and growing ownership in their lives. We genuinely desire to connect with our clients in a safe space, free of judgment. We value our client’s perspective and believe treatment is based on each individual's goals and needs.

Two types of people seem to find me helpful. First type, stuck and looking for some wisdom. Second type, marked by some serious pain requiring specialized skills. I understand personally and professionally how hurt sometimes goes deep into a person's body, mind, and soul. Along the way I have discovered the joy of genuinely caring for people and celebrating the overcomers.

Practice Transition Update: After May 31st 2024 I will be transitioning my practice to ReNew Counseling in Searcy. Over the next coming days and weeks I will be updating this profile as often as I can as to a timeline of getting my office set up and open to providing services at my new location. The week of June 10th I will start getting oriented with the new practice and am hopeful that I can update this profile sometime that week with information to guide you on how to get set up as a client under my new practice. I am not fully set up to be able to schedule appointments just yet.
