Hello and welcome! My name is Dorothy Llamosas. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Accredited Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) therapist. I obtained a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of the Rockies and am fluent in English and Spanish. I have over 9 years experience with individuals encountering family conflict, communication issues, lack of support, parenting and behavior difficulties with children, coping with stress and life changes, and dealing with depression and anxiety. In my career, I have also helped individuals dealing with physical and emotional abuse.

I have experience in depression, anxiety, addictions, self-esteem, mood disorders, marriage and family, couples, and trauma. I have experience in working with children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. I love helping clients to overcome the life challenges that impact their daily lives. I am passionate about helping others become mentally healthy and. I have been in the field since 2014 and is verse with different disorders, cultures, and ethnicities. I constantly build competencies by completing CEUs, partipate in workshops, and reading literature. I stay updated on the new advances in mental health through different avenues.

My approach to psychotherapy is based in collaboration with clients. My goal is to assist you in identifying the underlying causes of your current, or long term, distress and/or to manage current symptoms. I firmly believe that each of us possesses an inherent potential for healing & growth. My clients are individuals who seek connection, unconditional positive regard, empathy - and an appropriate dose of humor! - in their therapist. I specialize in eating disorders, substance use disorders, and mental health disorders including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, mood disorders and PTSD.

Dr. Edward Summers is a Mental Health Counselor who has worked in individual & group therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He obtained his BA and MPA from Marist College and holds a M.Phil and Ph.D. from The New School. He has completed more than 300 hours of psychotherapy and addiction training. Dr. Ed believes in using evidence-based practices and draws from CBT, DBT, mindfulness training, holistic, and humanistic approaches in order to be an insightful and compassionate guide to help clients to self-evaluate & find their own paths to happiness.

I worked for Hospice in FL, for 7 years, an 868-bed nursing home in the Bronx, NY for over 9 years and, prior to that had been the head therapist at The Anxiety Control Center in Yonkers, NY for 5 years. My client population consists of families as well as individual adults, elderly, and adolescents.
