Dr. Shah is welcoming new patients for video appointments. As a Board-certified M.D. psychiatrist, he specializes in assessing and treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD and other psychiatric issues. A holistic provider, he combines non-pharmacologic approaches - including psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy - in addition to medication. He utilizes such therapeutic modalities in medication management appointments as well as dedicated therapy sessions. Hello, I am currently accepting new clients 14 and over either via telehealth or in-person. I treat a variety of mental health conditions and typically have same-week availability. I believe in an evidence-based approach to medication management that also includes getting to know my clients. I want to know what your goals, strengths, and concerns are. This allows me to teach you about the risks and benefits of medications. This approach is empowering for clients as it gives them a sense of agency to make their own healthcare choices.

I am a board certified Psychiatrist and Neurologist, with a board certification in Neuropsychiatry. I have had greater than 30 years experience doing analytically based insight oriented psychotherapy. I generally use medication only in a time limited manner and endeavor to help the patient gain some control over the factors that are causing or exacerbating their psychiatric symptoms. An ideal patient for my practice is one who desires to work to gain insight into what is causing their bothersome psychological symptoms. I have worked extensively with patients with personality disorders and severe depressive disorders in my career.
