The challenges associated with mental health are so real and prevalent in society. In fact more than one in five Australians will be impacted by some form of mental illness or condition in their lifetime. Grief, loss and trauma informed counselling, in addition to support for relationship conflict, and generalised anxiety and depression, form the mainstay of his practice. Meir is also a member of the ACA College of Supervisors and an accredited Counselling Supervisor providing support and supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists who work in all fields of mental health.

I am a Psychoanalyst and Psychotherapist who hold specialized accreditations in working with Complex Trauma, Acute Stress and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders and a range of mental health presentations. I am committed to providing best practice trauma informed care in a confidential, sensitive and validating therapeutic space, with an emphasis on ‘learning to live with our stories.’ My primary ethical commitment is to provide a safe non-judgmental space for ‘bearing witness,’ for truth telling,’ and in sharing your ‘lived experiences’ via free association. I am also an EMDR Practitioner.

I am a registered psychologist based in St Kilda East, Melbourne. With over 24 years of experience in the field, I am committed to applying my skills to help clients achieve the optimum outcome. I bring to my practice a dedication to integrity and a lifetime commitment to helping people cope with life challenges. In 2006 I was awarded the Order of Australia for honorary work in disability and broad-spectrum community service. I have an ongoing commitment to professional development and standard of practice. I counsel adults, couples and adolescents.

As a clinical psychologist, I have had over ten years experience supporting adults as well as vulnerable young people and their families presenting with mental health concerns. A warm, caring and empathic approach is used to support clients. I am focused on developing a strong therapeutic relationship and collaborative understanding of my clients concerns. Sessions are informed by evidence-based treatment approaches that aim to achieve effective outcomes.

I became a counsellor to make a difference. I have worked with clients from all cultures, backgrounds and identities to help improve their lives. In my experience every person and their challenges are unique.

I have 6.8 years of experience working with Indigenous clients in the community in the AOD sector. I also have experience in crisis support, family violence and trauma. I offer services to individuals of any background, who need the proper support to help in their healing journey. Everyone deserves a healthy and happy life, sometimes you need someone to give you that space, I provide that. I believe I do have the skills to work along with you to help you reach your potential goals and have the life you want to have and live.
