I have over fifteen years experience working in private practice. I am committed to creating a warm and safe place for clients to explore themselves, improve their well-being and make meaningful changes in their lives. I work with adults (individuals & couples) presenting with a wide range of clinical problems including sexual difficulties, women's health issues (e.g. fertility issues/pelvic pain), depression, anxiety disorders, stress and work problems, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, disordered eating, and interpersonal issues. I use a collaborative approach tailored to meet each client's needs, goals and presentation.

My name is Federica, I am a registered Psychologist and Sexologist and the Director of Tailoring Therapy. In my years of being a therapist, I have developed the belief that psychological interventions and therapy should be tailored to the person's uniqueness. In my approach, I aim to provide knowledge and education, develop awareness, and encourage change, if that is what you are seeking.

Nearly all of us have challenges in life. Perhaps some of the most difficult for us to adjust to are those concerning our intimate relationships, and sexuality. Relationship problems and problems with sex are two of the most common issues that people bring to counselling with me... these aspects of life frequently result in much distress within each of us, and much conflict if you're in a relationship. Let's face it, it's not easy talking about relationship problems and sex when we're already feeling distressed.

As a clincial psychotherapist and registered psychosexual therapist, I specialise in helping individuals with trauma and PTSD, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, and sexual difficulties, including intimacy and trust. I am also passionate about providing support for navigating gendered, sexual, racial, and neuro diversity, and cultural identities, who may experience discrimination or internalised stigma. Centering unconditional positive regard, I work closely with the client to deeply explore how their past experiences, current situations, family background, and social elements of their lives have impacted their wellbeing.

In addition to private practice, I am a clinical psychologist at King Edward Memorial Hospital and provide in-patient psychotherapy to my perinatal patients at SJOG Subiaco. I have expertise in working with women, couples and families in the perinatal period, including grief & loss and chronic pain. In contrast, my earlier psychology career, saw me working with FIFO mining employees, including remote and rural mining areas of Australia. In addition to mental health issues with the mining population, including couples counselling and the unique challenges this poses on relationships.

As a mature person I have the benefit of my own life experience as well as my many years of professional practice that I can draw upon. This has enabled me to help many people to improve the quality of their lives and their relationships and to cope with and overcome the traumas and challenges that life eventually presents to all of us.

I am a registered psychologist in Boorloo, Perth, Western Australia. I am passionate about helping people move from surviving to thriving. I provide psychological therapy for people experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, focus and concentration problems and interpersonal and relationship difficulties. I have been providing therapy for over 25 years and am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused, Narrative and, Compassion Focused Therapies.

I believe it is important to work with clients - not dictate to them. My preferred treatment method is to focus on the areas that you want to work on. I believe a partnership not a prescription is important. Sticking to values means more than putting them on a website - it means actually living them. I am genuine, open and also have a sense of humour (though it is twisted/cynical/dark). I work best when clients feel comfortable, if that means we swear a lot in session - I am happy to make that sacrifice! I work clients across many areas from complex trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, depression and workplace issues.
