I am genuine, direct, open and also have a sense of humour (though it is twisted/cynical/dark). I work best when you feel comfortable, if that means we swear a lot in session - I am happy to make that sacrifice! I work clients across many areas from complex trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, depression and workplace issues.
I believe it is important to work with clients - not dictate to them. My preferred treatment method is to focus on the areas that you want to work on. I believe a partnership not a prescription is important. Sticking to values means more than putting them on a website - it means actually living them.
I employ a variety of therapies, with elements drawn from several approaches, to create the right program for you. Including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
You need to feel comfortable and connected to your psychologist to get the most out of the process. You will get to know me during the process and not feel like you are being told what is wrong, rather having a partner who can help you make sense of where to go from here (probably with the same values and twisted sense of humour).
