Hello! My name is Amanda (she/her) and thanks for learning more about my practice. I believe each person has their own unique story and deserves space to be seen and heard. Whether you are going through a life transition, living with illness, experiencing the loss of someone or in the role of a caregiver or healthcare professional, navigating life stressors can be overwhelming and even debilitating. You are not alone. My approach to therapy is to create a safe and welcoming space to identify, process, grow and heal from the life stressors you are experiencing. Collaboratively we can explore your strengths, goals, worries and hopes.

Many of my clients would agree that what they look for in a counselor is someone who "has been there themselves." They look for someone that has the education and experience to successfully assist them. I have that combination of personal experiences and educational background. I have 7 years experience and specialized training to assist individuals struggling with pornography and out of control sexual behavior. I am also trained to use EMDR for clients struggling with trauma memories, PTSD, and panic attacks. I can assist clients in all other general mental health areas, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and conflict management.

Walking alongside you as you seek therapy is my passion. Helping those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, caregiver burn out, health care complexities or a life limiting illness that may be impacting your quality of life, is the focus of my practice. I tend to work from a psychodynamic approach, taking time to explore an individual's life experiences and assessing how those experiences have shaped current beliefs.

My 25+ years of clinical experience have been focused on serving patients dealing with parenting issues, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, dual diagnoses, grief and loss, marital conflict, adjustment issues, and career/life transitions. My private practice utilizes a brief solution-focused modality, providing therapy to individuals, couples, families, and children.
