Daniel R. Stalder, Ph.D., is a social psychologist and professor of psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. His research is on biases, individual differences, and cognitive dissonance theory. His book, The Power of Context: How to Manage Our Bias and Improve Our Understanding of Others, focuses on a bias called the “fundamental attribution error.” Stalder runs the PARBs Anonymous website ("Persons at Risk of Bias"), which discusses how to use social psychology to reduce bias and conflict. His awards include the 2019 Outstanding Research Award from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, a 2020 Action Teaching Award honorable mention from the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, and the 2021 Letters & Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
