The experience of psychological and emotional pain can feel very lonely. However it's important to know that everyone experiences the following at some point in their lives: depression , anxiety, anger outbursts, low self-esteem, academic problems, relationship difficulties, divorce, parenting difficulties, substance abuse and any other lived experience that has caused distress. Furthermore, needing help applies to adults, teenagers and children alike as pain knows no age. Your lived experience is unique and your concerns about yourself and your life is real.

I work with Children, Teens, and Adults of all ages. During trying times in our lives we often need someone to help us navigate our thoughts and emotions to find the new way forward. Often emotions get the better of us when they control our actions with outbursts, anger, shouting and generally being in a 'bad mood'. Focusing on recognising and managing emotions can be the start of a new chapter. Sometimes just feeling completely overwhelmed by your situation can feel like you are drowning, developing the skills to sort through what is happening and find a clear path ahead can alter your way of looking at the world.

I believe that every child can learn and should have every opportunity to learn. These opportunities should not just be what our education system offers. Children learn in different ways and I see it as part of my expertise to find ways to help our children learn and develop. I love working with children of all ages. I feel that teens and young adults are often misunderstood and I want to be there for them. We need to find the hope and light within each person and sometimes, we even need to show them what they have within themselves.

If you’ve found yourself here, I understand that there’s a struggle in your life that’s worrying you. Perhaps it's something you've been struggling with for a long-time such as a childhood trauma, long-standing symptoms of anxiety or depression , or issues in your relationships. Or, maybe it's something new and challenging, such as the loss of a loved one, a diagnosis of an illness, school/work stress, or, in this time of lockdown, any overwhelming feelings such as anxiety, guilt, anger, depression , or exhaustion.

My expertise is working with adults and late adolescents, in dealing with: Depression , Anxiety, Bi-polar disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Eating disorders, Bereavement and loss.
Therapy can be an amazing, transformative process towards living a dramatically better life. Ideally the adults or adolescents who get the most out of therapy, want to really engage in the process. They should feel free to say anything; about how their day went, how they're dealing with problems in their life and even the therapy itself. By the eventual end of the whole process, I want clients to feel happier or more energized, be able to let go of toxic people in their life, and being more assertive in making life choices that are right for them.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
