I offer a space where you can meet yourself with kindness and curiosity. Many of us carry experiences of shame, self-judgement, grief, or a general sense of dissatisfaction. At the same time, there is often a deep longing to live a fulfilling and authentic life, and to experience meaningful connection with others. In my practice, I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges. Others come to counselling with a desire to better understand themselves and to grow into a fuller, more aligned version of who they are. Whatever brings you here, you are welcome.

I enjoy deepening the talk therapy space by bringing in different modalities, such as: meditation, breathwork and somatic practices as well as journaling.
We would be a good therapeutic fit if you are someone who is feeling: overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Maybe you’ve been holding it all together on the outside, while inside, something is calling for deeper healing. You’re not looking for quick fixes—you’re ready to gently explore what’s beneath the surface, to feel more grounded, connected, and aligned with who you truly are. If you're seeking a supportive container to reconnect with yourself and navigate life with more ease and clarity, you're in the right place. I offer a safe space for healing, softening, and coming home to yourself.

If you find yourself caught in difficult thoughts, emotions, reactions, or patterns that no longer feel helpful, you’re not alone. Many people reach a point of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. My role is to help you gently loosen what’s keeping you there, so that clarity, vitality, and a greater sense of ease can emerge. In a collaborative and focused practice borrowing from Rogerian and experiential paradigms, I hope to provide a space from which hope and change can emerge.

Being human is hard. Perhaps you’re wrestling with grief after a loss, struggling to adapt to big life changes, or feeling the weight of anxiety, dread, sadness, or heartbreak. You might find yourself alone in a crowded room, uncertain of how to express your needs or maintain meaningful connections. You want relief from the relentless inner critic, clarity on the next step, and the confidence to ask for and receive support. Ultimately, you’re craving a sense of stability, self‑understanding, and the ability to navigate life’s twists and turns without feeling overwhelmed or isolated.

Life can be brutal: the past haunts, interferes with the present and imperils the future. Counseling is a place to pause, reflect, and begin again. I believe there are no “bad” parts to people. Even the painful or overwhelming parts are trying, in their own way, to protect you. In counseling, we make space for all these parts to be seen and understood, while reconnecting with your deeper Self, that steady presence at the centre of it all. Therapy is not about reducing you to your struggles but about discovering new and practical ways to live more fully.

Most of my clients are dealing with some of the following: trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, relationship problems, lack of direction, eating disorders, performance problems, emotional turmoil, low self-esteem or are just generally demotivated and tired! Some just need to talk through their grief or anger. They all come with the need to heal, manage the world and find the joy in their lives again.

Welcome to The Mind Lab, where therapy meets curiosity, neuroscience, and practical change. I work with individuals who want to understand themselves more deeply, calm their overwhelmed nervous systems, and build emotional resilience that lasts. My approach combines analysis — understanding the “why” behind your patterns — with tools for change that help you shift the “how” in your everyday life. Drawing on Polyvagal Theory, I help clients recognise how the body holds experiences of trauma, stress, or relationship difficulties, and how learning to regulate the nervous system opens the door to clarity, connection, calm, and healing.

If you’re carrying the impact of past experiences or navigating stress, anxiety, or self-doubt, know that you don’t have to face it alone. Together, we can create a safe space where you can soften into yourself, reconnect with what has always been within you, and gently unravel the patterns that no longer serve you. This work is not about changing who you are—it’s about remembering, reclaiming, and embracing your resilience with compassion and care.

How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
