I am well equipped to help individuals with a variety of conditions including mood disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, and the autism spectrum; however, you do not need a diagnosis to need support.
Although my approach is tailored to your specific needs, mindfulness underpins every process; building present-moment awareness is the cornerstone to change. With this, I can help you learn healthier ways to tolerate distress, regulate emotions and engage interpersonally. For individuals struggling with their body image, I offer a structured programme.

Life presents all of us with complex challenges which are sometimes difficult to manage. E.g. what may be troubling is a recent interpersonal difficulty, or perhaps something unpleasant has happened or is still happening in your workplace (or school/college/university). You may have lost someone you were close to, or perhaps you were the victim of a crime. Alternatively, what may be troubling may be of a more long-standing nature, causing unresolved unhappiness. Or you may feel that life could be more fulfilling than it has been up to now, that it could be a happier, richer experience, with a sense of more well-being and freedom.

Life presents us all with challenges. You may be entering a new phase in your life. You may see repeated patterns that negatively impact you, your work and your relationships. Perhaps global crises have left you contemplating your identity and seeking meaning and purpose in your place in the world. You wish to make sense of the intersectional influences of belief, race, class or other systems and the accompanying feelings these evoke. However much (or little) you desire a change or a fresh perspective on life, it's natural to want someone to help you navigate the discomfort and achieve your goals.

As an HPCSA- registered Drama Therapist I facilitate a non-judgmental and confidential space where equal attention is given to the body, heart, mind and soul. Arts processes such as images and stories give shape and form to things that are difficult to talk about or to discover new insight in old patterns. Our work is about looking at all the parts that make up the Self, both the healthy ones and the hurting ones. By making space and engaging with these parts we get to better understand ourselves and connect with who we truly are. Arts activities are invited sensitively and when it feels appropriate – no awkward role-plays!

I consult clients who struggle with a variety of issues such as addiction, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, burn-out, work stress, coping, self-esteem and relationship problems.
All of us at some point might need support to deal with the many challenges of life, whether it be a personal crisis, a loss, an addiction, a feeling of stuckness or a change in one's ability to cope. I offer compassionate and non-judgemental psychotherapy for adolescents and adults. It is not always easy to take the first step to start therapy and to be vulnerable, but allowing yourself to open up is often the start of the journey towards acceptance or change.

As human beings, we strive towards becoming the best version of ourselves. But life often throws several curveballs at us which can lead to difficult times and severe emotional distress. However, it is never too late to practice the necessary self-care and reach out for guidance and support.

I believe counselling can benefit everyone. We all face challenges that can feel overwhelming, whether it’s managing work-related stress, finding balance in daily life, coping with grief, or addressing the impact of past experiences that continue to resurface. Life is complex, and clients often bring a range of concerns. Counselling provides a safe, supportive space to explore these experiences and to gain insight into the patterns that shape our lives. Together, we work on reflection, open conversation, and new perspectives all of which lie at the heart of the healing process.

Are you at a stage in your life where you feel like you are stuck in a rut, or tired of self-sabotaging your own happiness and success, or tired of being tired? Feeling overly anxious all the time, depressed and disconnected, yet still showing up to all your responsibilities? This is where I can help! I work therapeutically with high strivers who feel like they have become disconnected from themselves, others, and their internal drive. What used to help them cope in the past, no longer works. I combine methods strategically and practically, but all with an underpinning in philosophy and neuroscience.

Whatever you're carrying right now, it's real, it's valid, and you don't have to carry it alone anymore. Maybe it's grief, anxiety, heartbreak, change, or the weight of a life that feels like it's moving too fast. Maybe you've lost touch with yourself somewhere along the way and aren't sure how to find your way back. Maybe you just need someone in your corner who genuinely cares. I aim to offer a space where you can show up exactly as you are; messy thoughts, big emotions, and all. Whether we meet in person at my practice in Cape Town, or Online, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported.

I aim to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic space where you can feel heard and understood. Therapy is not about “fixing” you, but about increasing insight, building resilience, and developing practical strategies that support lasting emotional wellbeing.

Eating Disorders Counsellors
What happens in therapy for eating disorders?
In therapy for eating disorders, patients typically describe their eating and exercise behaviours, their patterns of eating in relation to stress, their beliefs about their body, the ways their eating behaviour affects their relationships, and their desire (or lack of it) to change. Such information helps the therapist understand the origins of the disorder and the role it plays in the patient’s life, important for guiding treatment. Attitudes and feelings about food and eating, body weight, and physical appearance are common topics of discussion throughout treatment.

What therapy types help with eating disorders?
Once any acute medical or psychiatric emergency is resolved, psychoactive medication is often prescribed, requiring the supervision of a psychiatrist. In addition, patients receive some form of nutritional counselling along with one or more forms of psychotherapy. For adolescents, family-based treatment is empirically validated and considered the first line of treatment; parents and their children meet weekly with a clinician as the adults are coached on how to nourish and psychologically support the young patient. Adults typically receive some form of individual psychotherapy, intended to resolve the cognitive and behavioural disturbances that underlie the disorder and to relieve the mood disturbances that accompany it. In addition, patients may also be helped by group therapy.

What is the goal of therapy for eating disorders?
The most immediate goal of treatment for eating disorders is to save the life of people who are on a path of starving themselves to death or engaging in eating patterns that are doing irreparable physical harm to their body. Once the acute medical danger is past, therapy is required to understand the nature of the disordered eating and/or exercise patterns, establish healthy eating behaviour, and to tackle the many erroneous beliefs and distorted self-perceptions that underlie eating disorders and continue to pose a threat to health and life. Therapy also addresses the impaired mood that not only accompanies eating disorders but intensifies the danger to health and life.

What are the limitations of therapy for eating disorders?
Therapy can be very helpful for eating disorders—but that can happen only after people recognise they have a condition that must be treated. Especially with anorexia, the distortions in self-image that accompany the disorder can keep people from acknowledging they have a problem. Individuals may in fact see their eating disorder as a badge of self-control. Those with binge-eating disorder may feel too ashamed to seek help. Therapy cannot help those who do not avail themselves of it.

How long does therapy last for eating disorders?
Because of their complexity, recovery from eating disorders is usually a long-term process—measured in months and years— often marked by setbacks and relapse. Some form of help, such as individual or group therapy, may be advisable for much of that time. It is a general rule of thumb that the longer the illness has endured and the dysregulated eating behaviour has taken root, the longer treatment is likely to be needed.
