Hi I'm Nazia and I believe every person has a unique story, shaped by their experiences, strengths, relationships and challenges. I believe that meaningful growth begins when we feel truly seen, understood and supported. So, whether you are seeking support for yourself or your child, taking the first step can feel daunting. My therapeutic approach is neuro-affirming, strengths based and collaborative. Wellbeing is not about fixing ourselves but about understanding ourselves more deeply. Together we can work together towards greater emotional wellbeing and lasting positive change.

I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or are navigating difficult experiences such as trauma, domestic or sexual abuse, relationship challenges, and emotional distress. Many clients come to me when they are struggling to cope, feeling emotionally drained, or going through life transitions. Some may not fully understand what they are feeling, but know they need a safe space to talk, process, and find support without judgement.

With 30+ years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist, I focus on creating a safe space to explore emotional, relationship and life transitions dynamics As a Jungian Analyst, I engage with both conscious and unconscious processes. This depth-oriented approach focuses on individuation—integrating shadow elements and archetypal patterns to move beyond detrimental cycles. By interpreting dreams and symbolic material, we uncover the roots of your thinking and behaviour. Together, we bridge the gap between your ego and the Self, transforming inner conflict into a more authentic meaningful way of living.

I also offer online / in-person talks for various companies and high schools around Mental Wellbeing.
My guiding belief ever since I started working in mental health, is that everyone can heal. Some challenges are smaller; others feel too big to carry alone, and needing support sometimes is human. I see each client as a unique individual—not a diagnosis—and my aim is to understand their situation as fully as possible, and to work out a way forward together.

I work with a diverse range of clients, all of whom, carry their own unique story and life experience. The common theme connecting them to my way of working is a clear desire to let go of the limitations of the past and embrace the wonderful possibilities of change in the present.

I offer in-person or online counselling.
I am a Registered Counsellor with the HPCSA (PRC 0041815) and have a special interest in working with trauma. I am passionate about helping those who feel overwhelmed by life. Often, we do not realise where these feelings of overwhelm originate from. And even if we know, we might need help to address them. Sometimes, overwhelm stems from our relationships, finances, parenting, health, career choices/work, and expectations regarding sports performance . At other times, we may have experienced a traumatic event. This might cause anxiousness, fearfulness, helplessness, restlessness, or an intense sense of feeling out of control.

Towards well-being and mental health: Below the surface is depth in our human experience -in ourselves and each other. How can we listen to this more? Being aware of one's needs and feelings, next to others', with calm assertiveness, centered in warm-hearted values is arguably one useful way. Briefer work available over a few sessions, or longer-term meetings. Sessions are scheduled according patients' own needs and pace. Being conscious of one's feelings, contemplations and values is arguably useful, and is central to therapy. I try to provide a down-to-earth, respectful and encouraging psychotherapy atmosphere.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
