I have experience working with teenagers and adults.
Often we get stuck thinking that we have to 'do' life alone, we need to be strong and have it all together. Through the hardest moments in my life, I have grown the most and also learnt that we are stronger together- the happiest and most successful people have many circles of support around them. I offer you a safe space in order to explore life challenges and transitions in a grounded and supported way. Challenges may include things such as exams, changing jobs, changing houses, losing a loved one, getting married, getting divorced and low self-esteem.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when life feels uncertain - especially when you’ve been carrying things on your own for a long time. I believe healing happens in spaces where people feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves without judgment. I work with individuals navigating trauma, addiction, abuse, depression, grief, stress, and emotional overwhelm.

I provide services to children, adolescents & adults in the form of individual psychotherapy, play therapy, and family therapy.
Taking the first step in your mental health is a brave venture. Finding the right therapist for this process is important. Therapeutic relationships should provide you with a sense of safety to explore the most vulnerable parts of you. In the words of Brené Brown "Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light."

Creating a space where clients can explore their authentic selves is paramount in the therapeutic process. This requires forming a human connection with the client whilst maintaining the therapeutic relationship. As human beings we strive to form an understanding of ourselves, others and the world - this fosters connection, awareness and acceptance, all of which play a fundamental role in the healing process.

I offer psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and couples through an integrative approach characterised by thoughtful curiosity, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
I begin by taking the time to understand your experiences. Beyond the challenges that have brought you here, I am interested in getting to know the person who has been carrying them. Together, we can create the space to make sense of your experiences, deepen your self-understanding, and explore meaningful ways of moving forward.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
