During these years as a teacher, I realised the great need that existed for a safe space for individuals to journey with someone who would help them with hurt, loss and trauma.
I have a special interest in helping those who are experiencing trauma, grief and loss and those who are struggling with depression and anxiety. I also help individuals and couples struggling with relationships. Additionally, I have worked in an employee wellness space and have years of experience helping individuals struggling with stress and burnout.

I am passionate about working with women and those who are navigating life transitions, loss and shifting intergenerational patterns.
I am an Arts Therapist (drama therapy): a creative, expressive psychotherapy. Words are not the only language we can use; depending on your need we can use story, symbol, artmaking, movement, ritual and creative mapping to access that which often lies beyond words. These can support self-curiosity, and help find new perspectives on things that feel 'stuck'.

I am interested in grief counselling and have done a Death Doula course.
Are you experiencing anxiety or panic attacks, ranging from general anxiety which you can't pinpoint, to full on attacks that make you feel as though you are dying? Do you have relationship issues with a family member or loved one, so you feel unappreciated or disrespected? Are you feeling overwhelmed and confused, or perhaps you question decisions you made? Does an incident in your past prevent you from moving forward? Do you feel intimidated by life in general, or by the people around you? Are you experiencing burnout and you don't know where to turn? I can help you!

Bereavement Counsellors

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
