Life presents us all with challenges. You may be entering a new phase in your life. You may see repeated patterns that negatively impact you, your work and your relationships. Perhaps global crises have left you contemplating your identity and seeking meaning and purpose in your place in the world. You wish to make sense of the intersectional influences of belief, race, class or other systems and the accompanying feelings these evoke. However much (or little) you desire a change or a fresh perspective on life, it's natural to want someone to help you navigate the discomfort and achieve your goals.

So you're in your late 20s, somewhere in your thirties or hitting your 40s. And you grew up believing that everything was going to be epic. And now? It may feel like life is a little too difficult to navigate. Perhaps something is holding you back. Perhaps you just don’t feel really in control, or fulfilled or even content. You have so many of the things you wanted, perhaps a committed relationship, kids, a great job… and yet, it’s all feeling kinda hard and a serious juggle. Hi There!
Many of my clients experience deep spiritual questions and struggle to express it, thus carry it in silence. Sometimes they feel confused, ashamed, or disconnected from their faith. Some are unsure if it's even safe to ask some faith related questions or speak openly about their doubts. They often have guilt or spiritual pain from past events. People are searching for clarity, and reconnection—with themselves, with others, and God. I offer a safe, respectful space for them to talk without being judged and help them to rediscover a sense of spiritual grounding. Contact me if you need to reconnect.

You're good at holding it all together, showing up, and keeping going. But privately, you're exhausted, quietly falling apart in ways you haven't told anyone. Maybe you've been through a life change, a loss, the transition into motherhood, or a chapter that took more out of you than expected. You feel overwhelmed, disconnected, like you don't recognise yourself anymore. You're tired of pretending you're fine. You might have thoughts that you're afraid make you a bad person. Knowing something and actually shifting it are two different things.

I work with adults living with the lasting effects of childhood trauma, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm — including those who feel stuck in survival mode, disconnected from themselves, or repeating patterns in relationships and self-worth. Many feel they have lost their identity or never fully developed a sense of who they are.
I also work with women who feel lost — through motherhood, divorce, or simply years of putting everyone else first. My clients want more than insight. They want emotional stability, practical tools, healthier coping, and a grounded sense of direction and purpose — working with both the mind and body.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
