The Present is the WINDOW into the past. Be aware of your past and examine the SCRIPT you were given from your family bloodline. I'll love to help you rewrite it with GOD. When it comes to traits that we carry both the BIBLE and SCIENCE have much to say. Our journey through life is shaped by the legacy of those who came before us for better or worse. It is important to understand that the type of family history that get passed down through generations reflects the same recurring problems and troubles that all our ancestors experience. LET me help you break the CHAINS of Generational Trauma & set yourself and children FREE for GOOD.

Sometimes in life, we may face challenges that make it difficult to function on a day to day. These challenges can be physical, emotional, relational, or psychological. During this time, we may need professional assistance to support us during our healing journey and help us build skills and coping mechanisms. My psychotherapy approach is holistic, and I work collaboratively with the client to help them overcome challenges they may face and build skills to aid them in future. I primarily work from the psychodynamic modality; however, I may utilise knowledge, techniques as well as skills from other modalities where indicated.

I work in a long term psychoanalytic way which is suitable for patients who would like to work deeply with their issues and feelings. Patients who are hoping to grow in themselves, and enrich their interpersonal experiences would find this a rewarding approach.

Most of my clients arrive for therapy at a time when they are experiencing a “crises in meaning”, “crises in ego” or "crises in relationship". This, I believe, is a "call to action" - regardless of whether the struggle is to do with a relationship, depression or anxiety.

In my eyes, social work is more than a proffession, it is a way for me to channel my passion for helping others. Iam dedicated and determined to improve society's overall wellbeing by advocating for social justice, social cohesion, and social change in the lives of vulnarable people. Given the chance to empower others to be the best they can be, and that is all i could ever ask for in a career. Along with the dertemination to helping others, there are also personal life experiences that contribute to my longing for the social work. I have a passion for helping others.

Women's Issues Counsellors

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?

Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?

As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?

Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
