Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety, or major life changes?
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to the world of psychology which has now evolved into a full-on passion. As a registered counselling psychologist, I am committed to the well-being of all my clients and together we work towards developing you. I truly care for all of my clients and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek within themselves. I believe in patients being stuck in their lives but that they still hold all the answers and so my job is to elicit those solutions when they can't see them.

If you need some help getting unstuck, whether it's relational concerns, trauma, grief, depression, or anxiety, I am here to help you on your healing journey.
I would use both the intrapersonal relationship (relationship with oneself) and the therapeutic relationship to gain insight into the client's patterns, the cause, and triggers. The therapeutic relationship is often used to both heal previous interpersonal injuries and as a foundation for other relationships.

The main thing I help you with is releasing trauma so that you heal and show you ways to heal yourself further, AND heal your family.
Do you yearn to teleport yourself into life that feels safer, more peaceful and whole? Are cracks in your road of life appearing and the journey forward feels uncertain? Do you have inner discomfort, turmoil, perhaps even suffering? Or you just have this awareness of wanting to shift something. You are not alone as I share ALL of this experience. I have been both deeply humbled and enlightened to ‘remember’ that safety, peace and wholeness IS MY – OUR – NATURAL state of being. Cracks in the road appear when we have disconnected from our natural state, our truth. The way the light of this truth shines through is to crack us open.

Therapy is a place to confront your fears, understand past trauma and nurture your self.
I am a Clinical Psychologist in the Durban North area. If you are asking the question "Why me, why this, why now?" then therapy is just the kind of transformative space you are looking for. We don't need to wait until we are near collapse before we reach out to a therapist. Psychotherapy is extremely beneficial if you are feeling overwhelmed, depressed, anxious and confused or are just needing a safe space to navigate through emotionally turbulent or difficult times. I provide a safe, confidential service and am interested in creating a sacred space in which you can do the self-exploration that will lead to transformation.

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
