My name is Megan Vries. I am a clinical psychologist, based in Craighall Park, providing therapy to adults and adolescents. There are constant demands placed on adults, including family responsibility, navigating interpersonal relationships, and work demands. Similarly, Adolescence and young adulthood is a challenging period as young people are experiencing cognitive, social, emotional and interpersonal changes. Adolescents may be under significantly more pressure than when they were younger, in that more is expected from them academically and socially.
Adults and young professionals often experience tremendous pressure in their personal and professional life. The demanding hours, heavy workload and stressful work environment often have detrimental effects on their mental health. In therapy, we will explore relational patterns, beliefs and behaviours.
Therapy offers adults and adolescents a space to explore their thoughts, feelings, ways of relating and behavioural patterns. I endeavour to create a strong therapeutic alliance and do this by creating an environment that is empathic and non-judgemental.
