Hello, I am Janet, a qualified and HPCSA registered Art Psychotherapist. I offer a warm, compassionate, and creative therapeutic space where children, adolescents, and adults can safely explore emotional challenges, trauma, anxiety, identity, and life transitions through both conversation and art-making. I believe that creativity can give voice to experiences that are often difficult to put into words, supporting healing, self-understanding, and emotional growth. Central to my work is the importance of establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship grounded in attunement, empathy, and emotional containment.
I have a special interest in working with neurodiverse children and adolescents and those who have experienced trauma, loss, anxiety, or emotional and behavioural difficulties. Young people often communicate through play, creativity, and imagery long before they can fully express themselves verbally.
I work in a gentle and collaborative manner, recognising that every therapeutic journey is unique and is guided by the individual needs, goals, and experiences of each client. I understand that taking the first step towards therapy requires courage but reaching out for support is often the beginning of an important journey towards emotion well-being.
