I hold at my core a few principles which I bring to a therapeutic space. This first is without judgment – Each person experiences events in their lives in their own way, and I do not believe in imposing my own beliefs on others. I believe the therapist and patient are fellow travelers on a journey together where both parties contribute to the therapeutic process. I conduct myself in an honest and transparent manner to ensure that I remain professional and ethical in all that I undertake to do. I believe each patient’s individuality requires a tailor-made intervention that speaks to that person’s need - not a one size fits all view.

Developmental trauma and systemic trauma can have a significant impact on our functioning as adults. I specialise in childhood and attachment trauma, as well as systemic trauma relating to race, gender and organisations. I support my clients - mostly leaders and organisational practitioners - to deepen their capacity to integrate and heal from these difficult life experiences, to embody their emotions, and to restore connection with their innate wisdom, creativity and joy. Growth through the therapeutic process offers possibilities for deeper meaning and effectiveness.

As Mahatma Gandhi said: “You can’t change how people treat you or what they say about you. All you can do is change how you react to it.” I believe that we all sometimes need help to manage how we are reacting to the situations in our lives. Hence, the first step in therapy is understanding what is happening in your life & deciding how we can change it.

Ideally the client knows that they are stuck but they wish to overcome the barriers and the struggles that keep them there. It can be due to trauma, work challenges or self-esteem challenges, there is always a treatment plan that will be made to help the client overcome their challenges and break through their barriers

As your counselling psychologist, I am equipped with treating various mental health concerns. I am kind and warm and endeavor to be understanding of your experience. I have wealth of experience ranging from private practice, tertiary institutions & corporate. I have expertise in treating adults, adolescents and have a special interest in couples therapy. Understanding that the environment is important, I do know that committing to a therapy session may come with uncertainty. However, I would love to ease that anxiety by answering any questions you may have. Your psychological well-being and functioning is of utmost importance to me.
