This is vital during your journey with me as it provides you with a safe, trusting, non-judgmental space to be yourself. I wish to provide you with the tools and understanding to feel empowered and overcome situations and challenges that seem unbearable. My approach is a holistic one grounded in being person centered as we are not single occurrences but rather a culmination of everything happening around us.

Life can be challenging and complicated. Our past experiences have a way of influencing how we manage the challenges life brings and we can often find ourselves repeating patterns of behaviour, which can create even more difficulties. Therapy is a space to explore these patterns and to have an experience which is safe and challenging at the same time.

My background in sports coaching and teaching offers great insight in supporting children and adolescents in and out of the classroom
Navigating school demands, emotional challenges, and performance expectations can feel overwhelming for children, adolescents, and adults alike. I work with learners, students, and individuals who may be experiencing anxiety, learning or attention difficulties, social challenges, or pressure to perform—academically, socially, or in sport. I also work with university students and adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or under strain as they manage increasing expectations and transitions. These clients are often seeking clarity, confidence, and practical ways to cope more effectively.

I approach therapy as a deeply relational process. I believe many of the difficulties we experience, whether in our emotions, relationships, or sense of self, are not random, but reflect patterns that developed over time, in response to past experiences, relationships, and forms of trauma. In our work together I aim to help you gently identify and understand these recurring cycles, so that they can begin to shift in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable. I see therapy as a space where you can come to better understand yourself, feel more connected in your relationships, and begin to move out of patterns that no longer serve you.

I enjoy assisting people to realize their full potential. This may mean they are currently struggling with issues or trauma and need to be guided through the healing process. Alternatively, they are not currently living up to their potential and we will work together to assist them in unlocking their true capabilities.

Every one of us is a professional athlete, intent on achieving personal greatness, whether this entails a balanced lifestyle, a more fulfilling relationship, a new business venture, a career change or promotion at work, retirement, the birth of a child, rehabilitation following surgery, diagnosis and treatment of a medical condition, an exercise programme or a goal in sport at any level. All aspects of life that we experience as personally meaningful require that we feel empowered, confident in our abilities and skills, committed to achieving our goals, while perceiving challenges as opportunities for growth and success.

Psychological distress often presents quietly. It might be persistent anxiety, a low mood, relational strain, trauma, or a gradual sense of disconnection from yourself and your direction. At pivotal moments, thoughtful and skilled therapeutic support can create the space for clarity, recalibration, and deeply meaningful change. I maintain a practice model that ensures therapeutic depth, attentiveness, and genuine engagement in the therapeutic process. You can expect to be met with warmth, discernment, and respect - your inner world approached with care and thoughtful curiosity. A journey of discovery and understanding together.

I strive to help anyone and everyone who are finding the challenges they face daily, a bit overwhelming. Support goes a long way to overcoming challenges and by creating a collaborative approach and basing the therapeutic process towards solution building and creating a hope filled future, perspectives can be shifted and goals set. My space is judgement free and incorporates understanding and acceptance for how things are for you. We all have a story, and we can all create a story for ourselves that makes sense.

If you are looking for therapy that goes beyond simply asking, “How does that make you feel?”, you are in the right place. I work primarily with adults and teens navigating anxiety, relational trauma and identity transitions. Many of my clients are capable and high-functioning, yet privately overwhelmed by perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional shutdown or repeated relationship patterns. With a Master’s degree in Neuropsychology, I bring a strong understanding of how the brain, nervous system and early experiences shape present-day behaviour. In therapy we look beneath the surface of these patterns.

My ideal client is someone who is navigating a significant personal, emotional, or life transition and is seeking a safe, non-judgmental space to understand themselves more deeply. They may be struggling with issues such as anxiety, stress, burnout, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, trauma, or the emotional weight of family and social pressures. Often, they arrive feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck aware that something needs to shift but unsure of where to begin. Their needs centre around being genuinely heard, validated, and provided with a therapeutic relationship they can trust.

Elderly, adults, adolescents, teenagers and children often have to deal with life challenges, development and adjustment problems. Family members and friends may not always provide the objective guidance they need to overcome these challenges.

Sports Performance Counsellors
How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualisation, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
