I am a clinical psychologist working primarily with adolescents and adults in private practice. As a practitioner, my approach is, primarily, psychodynamic which explores individual unconscious processes as well as the influence of early developmental experiences on immediate quality of life. I also work from a relational position which examines our social context including interpersonal interactions. I understand that embarking on therapy can feel overwhelming and may evoke mixed feelings for many. My intention is to create a containing and collaborative space, one where the client can feel understood, recognized and secure.

You may appear to be coping on the outside while privately feeling overwhelmed, anxious or emotionally exhausted. Perhaps you've experienced trauma, struggle with persistent anxiety, feel stuck in repeating relationship patterns, or find yourself constantly overthinking despite knowing better. I work with adults, professionals and athletes facing these challenges. Together, we identify the underlying patterns keeping you stuck and use evidence-based psychological therapy to help you regain clarity, confidence and emotional freedom.

As a young professional, you are likely navigating an intense mix of career ambition, corporate identity, family expectations, and the daily pressures of city life. It is easy to look like you have it all together on the outside while feeling completely overwhelmed on the inside. I offer a modern, supportive, and culturally grounded space specifically for young adults and corporate/creative professionals who need to unpack the weight they carry. I combine practical coping tools for stress and anxiety with creative modalities like art-based counselling and mindfulness.

Many people I meet are seeking meaningful connection; they yearn to be listened to, fully seen and understood for who they truly are. They need to belong. I believe that if we all stood in a circle and held hands, each of us could take a little love from the person on their right, absorb what they need and pass the remainder on, to the person on their left. Is this not our role on the planet - to nourish and uplift one another as best we can?

My ideal client is someone who feels overwhelmed by life's challenges and day to day tasks. someone who needs clarity on how to deal with challenges and apply themselves effectively to their respective spheres of life. A client that needs a safe space to explore their limitations, and set goals relating to how they would like to see themselves improving. A client that would like to get to the root of possible behavior that impacts their lives negatively, and how to change these behaviors into healthier mechanisms that can change their lives for the better.

Parenting Counsellors
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
