Like the ancient art of Kintsugi, I believe that healing is not about erasing cracks but embracing them - filling the broken pieces with resilience, self-compassion and strength. Life's challenges can leave us feeling shattered, but with the self-reflection, self-awareness and the right support, those fractures can become part of a more beautiful, empowered version of ourselves. As a Clinical Psychologist, I help individuals navigate a vast array of mental health issues and life transitions, guiding them towards growth and wholeness. Together we can turn pain into wisdom and struggles into gold.

I am a clinical psychologist working primarily with adolescents and adults in private practice. As a practitioner, my approach is, primarily, psychodynamic which explores individual unconscious processes as well as the influence of early developmental experiences on immediate quality of life. I also work from a relational position which examines our social context including interpersonal interactions. I understand that embarking on therapy can feel overwhelming and may evoke mixed feelings for many. My intention is to create a containing and collaborative space, one where the client can feel understood, recognized and secure.

I am a clinical psychologist offering psychotherapy to adults and adolescents. I work psychodynamically, meaning I work with the unconscious, and believe that our feelings about ourselves and others are often rooted in our early experiences. At the same time, I am attuned to the social forces that shape our ways of living in the world, and consider each individual holistically within their context.

I work with clients who may be struggling with depression or trauma related to their relationships or family.
If you’re a young adult trying to make sense of all the things—adulting, identity, stress, anxiety, big life questions—you’re in the right place. I offer a supportive, judgment-free space where you can unpack, explore, and grow at your own pace. As a counsellor, I blend traditional talk therapy with creative approaches like art-based counselling and guided meditation. Why? Because sometimes words aren’t enough—and that’s okay. Whether you’re a doodler, daydreamer, deep thinker or all of the above, we’ll find ways to express and explore what’s really going on beneath the surface.

Should you find yourself struggling to open up to family or friends but have the need to talk to somebody, contact me and we can discuss a way forward.
Life can be challenging and complicated. Our past experiences have a way of influencing how we manage the challenges life brings and we can often find ourselves repeating patterns of behaviour, which can create even more difficulties. Therapy is a space to explore these patterns and to have an experience which is safe and challenging at the same time.

It is not the challenges that define us, but rather how we respond to them. I am Muhammad, a registered counsellor with the HPCSA. My work centres on the struggles people carry quietly. I support children, adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, low mood, identity questions, occupational pressure, and relationship or marital strain. I have a particular interest in men’s mental health and spiritually integrated care.

I offer a warm, supportive therapeutic space for children and families.
As an Educational Psychologist, my ideal clients are children, teens, and young adults who are feeling overwhelmed by the demands of school, work, or home life. They may be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, learning barriers, or difficulty regulating their emotions. Parents may want to understand and support their child better, while adults may seek clarity, balance, and healthier ways to cope with stress. At the heart of it, we all want to feel heard, supported, and equipped with practical tools that allow us— or our children — to thrive both emotionally and academically.

“ Therapy is a dress rehearsal to life”- Ivirn Yalom. Psychotherapy is therefore a great preparatory and supportive space to address whatever life challenges a person may face such as; personal, relationship/ marital difficulties, work related stressors, parenting issues, school related issues etc. Through psychotherapy we engage client in systematic and humanistic approaches to promote self-awareness, growth and interpersonal understanding. Our therapeutic point of departure is embedded in the fact that mental health difficulties are mostly relational.

FAQ - About Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
