Often accomplished, capable individuals have private struggles even while appearing composed and managing responsibilities. You may experience conflict in relationships, anxiety, burnout, low self-worth, unresolved trauma, unprocessed grief, battle with work challenges, long for meaningful connections and want to live with a deeper sense of purpose. This requires a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore the layers beneath your day-to-day stress. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship to enable healing, help you untangle confusing or heavy feelings and facilitate insight that supports sustainable psychological change.

Many people, both individuals couples, perceive therapy as a crutch or sign of weakness and ‘feel’ stronger coping on their own. Yet, taking the first step when one is struggling shows initiative and courage; it's often the harder choice. Whether this struggle feels loud, like anxiety or a tough life event or quiet like a loss of motivation, a sense of disconnection, or an inner voice questioning our worth; therapy explores what lies beneath. Therapy is not just talking about problems; it can provide a strong foundation for healing and learning. I see clients of diverse backgrounds, from individual adults to couples and families.

I work with couples, individual adults, families and teens – navigating anxiety, stress, transitions, identity, low mood, life challenges, mental health conditions, and/or emotional exhaustion. With couples, I focus on communication, emotional safety, power dynamics, intimacy, and conflict patterns – helping partners move from reactivity to reconnection. In family and teen work, I create space for each voice to be heard, supporting healthier boundaries, emotional regulation, communication skills, and trust during often challenging developmental stages. With individuals, I assess their unique history and potential for transformation.

I am counsellor, yes. But first? I'm human. I have sat with people in silence when words would not come. I have watched couples untangle fights that were never really about the dishes. I have held space for grief that had no timeline. And here is what I know for sure: You are not broken. You are not behind. You are not too much. You are just someone who could use a gentle guide right now. I would be honored to be that for you.

My ideal client is someone who feels overwhelmed by life, relationships, grief, anxiety or depression and is tired of being strong alone. They may be navigating identity, strained relationships, workplace stress or healing from past trauma. What they want most is relief, healing, clarity and someone who truly sees them. They’re not looking to be judged, but to be understood and supported at their own pace. They want a space where their emotions are valid, where healing feels possible and where they can begin to rebuild their sense of self with dignity and hope.

Gottman Method Counsellors
How does the Gottman method work?
One of the core doctrines of the Gottman method is that negative emotions hurt relationships about five times more than positive emotions help them. Thus, couples require five times more positive interactions than negative interactions with each other. The therapist will guide clients on how to improve communication and understanding of each other to manage conflict and have their emotional needs met. The therapist will also advise couples on how to repair relations with each other when conflict arises, and therefore avoid lasting damage.

Is the Gottman method evidence-based?
Yes, this method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy. The method is based on more than 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the psychologists who developed the method. The Gottmans analysed decades of data to draw conclusions about what types of interactions are likely to lead to specific results, and which interventions are most likely to lead to success. Studies have found that this approach leads to improvements in relationship satisfaction, intimacy, communication skills, and a lower rate of divorce.

How long does the Gottman method take?
The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and an average course of treatment is around 10 sessions. In some cases, such as for couples dealing with a critical problem, the therapist will suggest an intensive course of treatment, with daily sessions over the first two to four days. Treatment is complete when the couple is satisfied and has met the goals they’ve set, and when the therapist believes they have the skills to continue on their own.

Is the Gottman method effective?
Through the Gottman method, couples can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. This treatment has been used for more than 40 years; the method is supported by empirical research, including randomised controlled trials that have demonstrated effectiveness in improving relationship outcomes for couples. Like any talk therapy, success or failure depends in large part on how committed the clients are to making positive changes and working toward results.
