I am a Clinical Psychologist grounded in compassionate, inclusive care. My work draws from psychodynamic training while remaining tailored to each individual’s needs. Therapy is a collaborative process, shaped by your story and your pace. Always thoughtful. Always human. Therapy can be seen as a work in process. A collection of human experiences slowly and carefully weaved together. Often challenging, sometimes light-hearted, always guided by you.

My approach is integrative and grounded in systemic, attachment, CBT, DBT, and humanistic perspectives.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or exhausted from carrying life's challenges on their own. Together, we explore not only current concerns such as anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, life transitions, low mood, and challenges with self-worth, but also the patterns, relationships, and experiences that may be shaping them. Through a collaborative and supportive process, we develop insight, strengthen coping, and create meaningful change that feels sustainable and aligned with what matters most to you.

Often, people come to therapy not because there is one clear problem, but because something doesn't feel quite right anymore. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected from those around you, or wondering why the same difficulties keep resurfacing. I work with children (7+), adolescents, adults, and couples experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, maternal mental health concerns, grief, and major life transitions. Together, we explore these experiences with curiosity and care.

Most people just want to be happy. While that can certainly be achieved through counselling, I believe happiness is an emotion, like others, that comes and goes. Instead I work with you to create more peace, joy and fulfilment in your life. These are deeper long-lasting goals that are the foundation of life satisfaction. Over and above the specific concern you wish to work on, I aim to help you connect with who you really are as a person and facilitate the path to who you would like to be.

I believe in using a combination of insight oriented therapy in conjunction with Dialectical Behavior therapy ( DBT).
As a psychologist I am constantly amazed by peoples’ resilience and capacity to overcome tremendous hardship. I feel privileged when clients confide and share that which is deeply painful. It is an honour to embark on a therapeutic journey with with my clients. I have also developed a keen understanding of the level of investment that is required in order to manage overwhelming feelings in productive ways. I prioritise creating a non-judgemental thinking space in the hope that it will enable clients to find themselves and attempt to establish meaning amidst uncertainty.

I have extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, and families using DBT skills such as mindfulness as a way to help clients gain insight and learn to manage their lives more effectively.
I am a registered counselling psychologist who believes wholeheartedly in the power of psychology and the potential for healing that a safe, non-judgemental therapy relationship can create. I am also aware that starting therapy can feel very scary and so I aim to create a space where your voice can be heard in a meaningful way in a manner that you are comfortable with.

I am an "out the box" therapist drawing mainly from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy ( DBT) which teaches practical robust mental health skills, Brain Wiring Recursive Therapy (BWRT) which directly addresses and resolves trauma, and Ecotherapy where we use nature connection tools to ground and connect with our Ecological self - the home of intuition.
Do you need a safe space to air your thoughts and speak your heart? Do you need to navigate a difficult season in your life? Or do you need to heal from something that you are tired of hurting from? Life is beautiful but just like the rose, it comes with thorns. All of us need support sometimes, no matter who we are, and no matter our age. A specific traumatic event, a transition that you are going through like divorce or relocation, school or friendship issues, work issues, mental health difficulties like depression and anxiety, or just the desire for a mental health and personal growth check-in may bring you to therapy.

Dialectical Behaviour (DBT) Counsellors
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behaviour and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behaviour, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioural change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behaviour; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
