The Individuals that feel as though no-one will understand or who have been told time and time again that they are the ones at fault, either in their relationships or at work. The individuals who feel alone and who cannot speak out due to hidden manipulation and control within a home or who are insidiously abused within a relationship. The individuals who feel that they are the ones who have destroyed their families lives, the individuals who want a safe space, a listening ear and supportive dialogue. The individual who wants clarity of mind, effective coping mechanisms and understanding, these are the individuals I counsel.

As a young professional, you are likely navigating an intense mix of career ambition, corporate identity, family expectations, and the daily pressures of city life. It is easy to look like you have it all together on the outside while feeling completely overwhelmed on the inside. I offer a modern, supportive, and culturally grounded space specifically for young adults and corporate/creative professionals who need to unpack the weight they carry. I combine practical coping tools for stress and anxiety with creative modalities like art-based counselling and mindfulness.

Being human is hard. Perhaps you’re wrestling with grief after a loss, struggling to adapt to big life changes, or feeling the weight of anxiety, dread, sadness, or heartbreak. You might find yourself alone in a crowded room, uncertain of how to express your needs or maintain meaningful connections. You want relief from the relentless inner critic, clarity on the next step, and the confidence to ask for and receive support. Ultimately, you’re craving a sense of stability, self‑understanding, and the ability to navigate life’s twists and turns without feeling overwhelmed or isolated.

At the Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children I have gained experience on rape/ sexual abuse and testifying in a criminal court for 5yrs.
I am passionate about seeing lives changed and clients reaching their full potential, even though there may seem to be no hope. In my sessions I view every individual as unique and do not treat my clients with a “one size fits all approach” I believe that even though clients may have similar problems their experience and the way they view their problems are different from others.

You’ve been through experiences that have left lasting scars—pain that’s difficult to understand and express, perhaps, feelings of shame, isolation, or a sense of being stuck. Or you’ve faced trauma or other difficult life experiences, and it’s affecting your relationships, self-worth, or ability to move forward in life. Maybe you are finding day-to-day life difficult. You’re searching for a safe space where your story is heard without judgment, where your pain is acknowledged, and where you can begin to rediscover and reclaim your sense of self. Mainly, you’re seeking healing, understanding, and a way to rebuild your life.

I instinctively formulate psychodynamically. However, I am a firm believer of meeting my clients where they are and together framing treatment within a modality that fits the presenting problem and the client’s therapeutic goals. I believe that one size does not fit all! This belief aligns with my integrative training which allows for the viewing of individuals as complex and dynamic beings, who at times struggle with interpersonal challenges rooted in multifaceted systems.

How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
