I’m Brigitte Mentz, a counsellor, mediator, and corporate trainer with a deep interest in leadership, emotional resilience, and personal growth. I work with professionals, leaders, and individuals seeking clarity, confidence, and balance in both work and life. If you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or disconnected, despite outward success, you’re not alone. Many high-achieving individuals reach a point where the demands, decisions, and quiet pressure to keep performing begin to erode their sense of self. My role is to create a space where you can pause, reflect, and realign with who you are and who you want to become.

Have you ever felt like your pain has been minimised or misunderstood, especially during moments that were meant to feel joyful? Many of us have heard phrases like, "You're just ungrateful," "Motherhood is meant to be a blessing," or "Get over it." Yet our experiences are rarely that simple - they can carry both joy and uncertainty, fear and hope. Sometimes the hardest part is not just about what happened, but trying to make sense of what it means to you. When there is no space to explore that complexity, we may begin to doubt ourselves, struggle to name what we feel, or end up feeling like we're just living life on autopilot.

Are you facing challenges related to your sexuality or life in general? Sexuality is a deeply personal and authentic aspect of our identity, rooted in our heritage, values, and individual experiences. It encompasses our gender roles, sexual orientation, intimacy, pleasure, and even the legacy of how we connect with ourselves and others. Life, too, with its highs and lows, from career struggles to financial stress, addiction, and more, can challenge our sense of self and sustainability.

I see clients who are looking to heal through a holistic approach to mental wellness. The clients that I see are choosing to heal themselves and recreate themselves after divorce/breakups, co-dependency or abusive relationships. Some of my clients are doing the re-parenting in wellness program and finding direction and meaning again. They are building their self esteem as well as gaining deeper insight into who they are, why they have the patterns they have and how to replace them with healthier ones. Together we focus on breaking toxic cycles and rewriting your narrative.

I work with adults living with the lasting effects of childhood trauma, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm — including those who feel stuck in survival mode, disconnected from themselves, or repeating patterns in relationships and self-worth. Many feel they have lost their identity or never fully developed a sense of who they are. I also work with women who feel lost — through motherhood, divorce, or simply years of putting everyone else first. My clients want more than insight. They want emotional stability, practical tools, healthier coping, and a grounded sense of direction and purpose — working with both the mind and body.

I like to work with individuals that realise that they need and deserve help, and someone who is ready and willing to work on themselves. Someone who wants to improve their coping mechanisms, their ability to manage stress, to manage their emotions, to deal with adjustment, to deal with change, to deal with past and current trauma, to learn to love and nurture themselves and improve their relationships wit others. People who want to shift old patterns that no longer serve them.

Hi There! Many of my clients experience deep spiritual questions and struggle to express it, thus carry it in silence. Sometimes they feel confused, ashamed, or disconnected from their faith. Some are unsure if it's even safe to ask some faith related questions or speak openly about their doubts. They often have guilt or spiritual pain from past events. People are searching for clarity, and reconnection—with themselves, with others, and God. I offer a safe, respectful space for them to talk without being judged and help them to rediscover a sense of spiritual grounding. Contact me if you need to reconnect.

Feeling stuck, anxious, or emotionally drained after a difficult experience? Maybe you're carrying the weight of trauma, a brain injury, or a life change that's left you feeling disconnected from yourself. You might be going through the motions but not really feeling your life. Perhaps you've tried talking about it before and it didn't help — or the idea of sitting and reliving painful memories feels unbearable. You deserve support that works differently. A space where healing happens gently, creatively, and at your pace.

If you’ve ever felt held back by self-doubt, overthinking, people-pleasing, fear of failure, or feeling like you’re never quite enough - you’re not alone. Confidence isn’t simply about positive thinking or trying harder. It’s shaped by the subconscious beliefs and emotional patterns that influence how you see yourself every day. My coaching goes beyond developing awareness and insight: I help you identify and transform those deeper patterns so you can build genuine confidence, trust yourself more fully and approach life with greater clarity, resilience and self-belief.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
