As a psychological counsellor, business owner, and mother, I know how overwhelming life can feel at times. Juggling responsibilities, relationships, and personal struggles can take a toll, and sometimes, we just need a space to breathe, reflect, and be heard. My goal is to provide that space, one that is supportive, and free of judgment. I believe in the power of real conversations, gentle guidance, and genuine connection to help you navigate life’s challenges. Whether you're seeking clarity, healing, or simply a moment to pause and find your way forward, I’m here to walk that journey with you.

I am currently very interested in working with young children and their families.
Often, how we navigate our traumas is informed by our relationships with our primary attachment figures. So, while I have found that "here and now" work is useful, my experience has taught me that there is no point in resolving what is on the surface if we have never attempted to deal with the root of the problem. I therefore pride myself in taking time to thoroughly understand people, so that we can work towards a more long-term form of healing.

Children receive Play therapy - this is a safe way to express their own challenges and emotions.
In the more than 30 years of working with people from all walks of life, I know that we all have a need to live a life of meaning and purpose. Our day to day journey is seldom without challenges – emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Each of these challenges have a lesser, or more severe impact on the quality of our life - on the way we feel about ourselves, regarding our relationship with others and our spiritual growth. Although we do not always want to admit it, we all are wounded in some way. I do believe that the best gift you can give yourself in life, is to strive and work towards becoming the person you are meant to

What guided me to this decision was the realization that I had a passion for helping people and for working with children.
Play Therapy is a type of therapy designed to be used with children in such a way that allows them to process emotions and articulate problems to parents and adults. I mainly focus on these techniques but also offer individual support to parents, couples and families.

I work with clients across the lifespan, including children, teenagers, university students, & adults supporting them through life transitions, identity exploration, and challenges related to spirituality, relationships, and personal growth.
As a qualified Counselling Psychologist, I believe therapy to be a space where healing meets possibility - a place where the parts of your story that are often left in the footnotes are brought to the center, seen, and honored. I aim to create a space that is culturally attuned, socially conscious, and responsive - where every aspect of your identity is recognized and valued. For me, therapy is about exploring your inner world and the social contexts that shape your experiences, gaining clarity, insight, and moving toward growth, resilience, and wholeness.

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How long are sessions with child therapists?
Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.

How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?
The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
