Most people just want to be happy. While that can certainly be achieved through counselling, I believe happiness is an emotion, like others, that comes and goes. Instead I work with you to create more peace, joy and fulfilment in your life. These are deeper long-lasting goals that are the foundation of life satisfaction. Over and above the specific concern you wish to work on, I aim to help you connect with who you really are as a person and facilitate the path to who you would like to be.

Quiet Cadence Wellness Practice offers supportive, non-clinical wellness counselling for individuals navigating stress, life transitions, trauma, couples counselling, emotional support, psycho-education, reflective practices and chronic illness.
My ideal clients are individuals who feel overwhelmed by the pressures of everyday life. They may be experiencing ongoing stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship strain, or difficulty coping with major life transitions. Many are high-functioning people who appear to be managing on the outside, yet internally feel exhausted, stuck, or unsure how to regain balance. Some clients struggle with academic or workplace pressure, while others feel emotionally drained from caring for others, navigating family challenges, or managing chronic stress and chronic illness.

I work with clients who may be struggling with stress, burnout, and workplace pressure, trauma, grief, relationship and self-esteem.
You may be feeling overwhelmed by the demands of life, tired of holding everything together, or unsure of how to cope with the emotional weight you’ve been carrying. Are you facing personal challenges such as stress, burnout, substance abuse, or emotional struggles, that are becoming too heavy to manage alone? Are you experiencing difficulties in your marriage, preparing for marriage, or navigating relationship issues that you’re not sure how to handle? In the middle of all this, you might be longing for clarity, inner peace, and a sense of direction. Do you want space to breathe, to understand your feelings without judgment?

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a difficult step, particularly if you are already feeling overwhelmed or unsure about where to begin. Many people hesitate for a long time before contacting a therapist, often wondering whether their difficulties are “serious enough” or whether therapy will truly help. These uncertainties are very common and completely understandable.

Along this life journey we may get thrown a curve ball and may be facing difficulties that feel overwhelming and our usual coping mechanisms fail us. A soldier can only run so far on a wounded limb, until they pay attention to it and dress it up for healing. So it is with life. We may need to tend to, dress, and heal the wounds. Therapy can be a powerful mechanism of healing, growth and restoration. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families who may be experiencing a wide range of including emotional, relational, psychiatric and health-related difficulties.

These challenges may include some more common complaints such as depression and anxiety, or those trying to come to terms with a trauma or bereavement.
I am less focused on the 'label' a person may have acquired over time (such as depressed, stressed, traumatised), but rather help them build a picture of what life is like when they are overcoming their respective challenges, and in that process discover what makes them unique when they are at their best (or on their way to being their best).

I have experience in helping clients with challenges relating to depression, anxiety, trauma and grief - as symptoms of existing conditions, and/or as responses to circumstantial stress.
My approach is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as an overarching concern with holistic wellbeing (psychological, physical, social, spiritual etc.). Most notably, my treatment approach is not confined to sessions, but rather extends into daily life through "homework" - involving the use of skills and strategies developed in-session.

I am a clinical psychologist working with adults and couples. People choose to start therapy for different reasons. Some may be facing a distressing time, whereas others may have long-standing difficulties which hold them back from a more fulfilling life. Therapy provides support and insight to effectively manage your difficulties, whilst accounting for your unique experience. It is a space to process your emotions, explore your behaviours and better understand yourself and your relationship dynamics. Couple's therapy can help you to understand and constructively address complex relationship dynamics to promote emotional connection.

I am a professional counsellor and work with adults, adolescents and children in many areas including trauma, bereavement, self-awareness, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and personal growth, amongst others.
Counselling is meaningful, challenging and rewarding. It is a way of making an authentic connection with ourselves. When we no longer expect ourselves to conform to rigid ideas about how we should be, we start to develop resilience and greater capacity to choose the lives we want.

Through doing experiential work in session, we deal with the lack of connection brought about by childhood or adult trauma.
I want to help clients who are struggling with issues in their relationships, whether it be in a marriage or other relationship. Problems experienced in living life fully, such as depression, anxiety or trauma, can be something which may affect relationships on different levels. Because I specialize in relationships, taking care in understanding depression and anxiety and working towards alleviation as much as possible, is very important. Trauma is a very important aspect of many people's lives which I treat by emotionally helping clients to get in touch with the pain.

Developmental and systemic trauma can profoundly shape how we show up in the world—as individuals, leaders, and members of community.
I work with arts-based, embodied and systemic approaches, all underpinned by Eastern and Jungian psychology orientations. Story, imagery, psychodrama, archetypes, art-making, family constellations - these are some of the doorways through which we might explore your experiences, healing and aspirations.

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
