I support individuals and couples navigating trauma, grief and questions around relational patterns, personal development, gender, sex and identity.
I've come to find that counselling has less to do with feeling better, and more to do with getting better at feeling. I’m here to support the development of this capacity through guided reflection, collaborative exploration and compassionate curiosity.

I am a clinical psychologist working with adults and couples. People choose to start therapy for different reasons. Some may be facing a distressing time, whereas others may have long-standing difficulties which hold them back from a more fulfilling life. Therapy provides support and insight to effectively manage your difficulties, whilst accounting for your unique experience. It is a space to process your emotions, explore your behaviours and better understand yourself and your relationship dynamics. Couple's therapy can help you to understand and constructively address complex relationship dynamics to promote emotional connection.

These challenges may include some more common complaints such as depression and anxiety, or those trying to come to terms with a trauma or bereavement.
I am less focused on the 'label' a person may have acquired over time (such as depressed, stressed, traumatised), but rather help them build a picture of what life is like when they are overcoming their respective challenges, and in that process discover what makes them unique when they are at their best (or on their way to being their best).

From birth, we are faced with moments that have a profound impact on the ways in which we relate with ourselves, others, and our surroundings. Our many moments of nurture, and the varying painful lived experiences leave us with overwhelming emotions that shift the ways we show up in our lives. Sometimes these pockets of our lived experiences are made sense of with the adequate care and support, and sometimes they are left in the corners of our mind, not seen, but are felt as we carry the unconscious weight of parts of who we are. Psychotherapy is a space where we may find empathic understanding of who we are, in all our intricacies.

I am able to help with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma and general coping skills for difficult situations and behaviours.
Hi, My name is Jacqui. I came upon the decision of going into Social Work and Play Therapy in 2018. What guided me to this decision was the realization that I had a passion for helping people and for working with children. I think my personality is what makes me able to communicate so easily with children. I am a person who is fun, loving and caring and if a phrase could describe me it would be that “I am a child at heart”. What I offer here at Pondering Possibilities is a service that will help you and your child navigate the stressors of life, through activities focused on therapy and play. Look forward to meeting you soon.

Psychotherapy is an ideal platform to explore your pain, give words to unspoken trauma and help you manage when you feel overwhelmed, down or anxious.
I offer psychotherapy for adults and adolescents. We would meet weekly, preferably at the same time each week and each session is 50 minutes long. The first few sessions are dedicated to understanding your history and in-depth exploration of what is causing you distress or stuckness in your life. From there, we determine if we are a good therapeutic fit.

Life can feel heavy. Sometimes the weight of anxiety, grief, change, or just the relentless pace of everyday demands makes it hard to breathe — let alone move forward. If you've reached the point where carrying it all alone no longer feels sustainable, that's not weakness. That's wisdom. I work with teenagers, young adults, and adults who are ready to explore healthier ways of coping, growing, and finding balance. Whether you're adjusting to high school, navigating a major life transition, or simply trying to manage stress and relationships with more ease, I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can be truly heard.

“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us” – David Richo. This is one of my favoured quotes because it is a reminder that pain and suffering are real but so is the potential for healing and self-discovery. Emotional pain can be intense and can have a detrimental impact on your mental wellbeing, physical well-being, relationships and many other areas of your life. It most profoundly impacts your relationship with yourself.

My work focuses on grief, trauma, and general mental health guidance, drawing on both psychological insight and pastoral care.
Life can sometimes feel heavy; filled with anxiety, emotional distress, or the weight of circumstances that feel too difficult to manage alone. You may be trying to stay strong, but beneath the surface, you’re exhausted from holding everything together. Whether you’re navigating loss, uncertainty, or the quiet ache of feeling stuck, you long for peace, clarity, and the tools to move forward with confidence and purpose.

I specialise in issues like anxiety, early relational trauma, and identity struggles.
Therapy is a space of careful listening and shared reflection. I work with high-functioning adults navigating emotional distress, life transitions, or a sense of being stuck in familiar relational patterns. Many appear successful and capable outwardly but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are beneath the surface. Therapy offers a chance to slow down, explore these deeper feelings, and find greater authenticity, meaning, and ease in life.

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
