I have special interest in public speaking, conducting workshops aimed at empowerment, couple therapy and working with the youth and
women
.
Therapy is not a 'magic pill' or a quick fix,but rather a healing process. Each person has an inherent potential to self-actualize while being encouraged for deeper self-understanding and to adapt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. Therapy is an effective tool to assist you in navigating through life and living your best. " We repeat what we do not repair".I have precise constellation of skills and practice methodologies in conducting (individual, couple, groups, families) therapy and working with organisations for trauma defusing and debriefing.

I work with children and adults that are in need of any therapeutic intervention or family assessments such as Residency, Contact and Care Investigations, Socio-Emotional Assessments, Interactional Analysis Investigations, Child Participation (Voice of the Child) and Child Abuse Investigations. I provide services to clients that have been victimised by sexual abuse. My interventions are focused on attachment within the family context, and I have co-developed a program for sex and love addiction. Medical Aid does not cover any assessment evaluations.

These mental health woes are endemic, with adverse childhood experiences and socio-economic status, to name a few, impacting the prevalence of mental illness. To alleviate these high levels of mental illness by assisting those in need, Kush Counselling and Therapy Solutions (KCTS) was founded. Mental illness significantly impairs overall health, and KCTS aims to highlight and promote counselling as a safe space to enhance one’s quality of life at our practice.

Trust in the light, Grow through the dirt, Believe in new beginnings. The lotus flower symbolizes rising from a dark place into beauty and rebirth, as this is exactly how a lotus flower grows. Lotus flowers grow directly out of muddy and murky waters and produce beautiful white and pink blossoms. Just like the lotus flower, I believe that individuals hold the ability to grow through the dark, murky, muddy times in life, and live their life blossoming, showing off their true potential. As a Specialist Wellness Counsellor, I accompany my clients on their journey of growth and self-discovery.

I specialize in trauma; so my ideal client would be an individual who wants to work through past trauma. My ideal client's goals are self-discovery and personal growth; they should have a need to explore their past and present, to build a better future. My ideal client is someone who wants to change.

My ideal client would be someone who finds it difficult to get out of bed every morning because they are feeling depressed, they are grieving for a loved one, they are considering suicide because at that time it sounds like the only option. My ideal client would be someone who feels overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious about life, feels hopeless and has relationship issues. If the above describes you, then you certainly need emotional support, you need someone to confide in and you need coping skills that may be solution-focused.

My psychotherapy approach is client orientated, integrative and has a holistic focus. I utilise knowledge, tools and techniques from multiple psychotherapeutic approaches to understand the cause and perpetuating factors contributing to my clients’ difficulties. This allows me to work collaboratively with them, to help them work through and overcome their problems. My focus emphasizes balancing clients’ psychological, emotional, relational and physical well-being to help them learn to manage all aspects of their lives. My aim is not only to help my clients, but to give them the tools and insights they need to notice problems arise.

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
