Our "normal" now are days filled with violence, crime, trauma, stress, depression and burnout from long working hours and a rushed lifestyle.
I provide counselling to individuals seeking help with difficulties in relationships, stress, anxiety, depression and trauma. My approach is holistic, which means that I focus on the client as a whole person, not just their mental health needs. I take into account the client's physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing to provide the support needed.

I am a therapist who work with individuals. I see children, adolescents and adults. Each patient is a person with a unique biography which include both their joys and struggles. I focus on the person and through our relationship I do my best to help them to understand their thoughts and feelings and to get to know why they feel and behave the way they do. On our journey together we explore whatever they bring, be it a thought, a feeling, a relationship, a dream, a stuckness or a symptom. Therapy, like other relationships, can be difficult. The difference is that this relationship’s purpose is to bring healing and acceptance.

Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors. In life we are faced with many obsticles and changes that we have to go through in order to grow and live fulfilling lives. Unfortunately, these obsticles and life changes do not come with a "How to" manual. I'm a registered Clinical Psychologist based in Hatfield, Pretoria. As a clinician, my job is not to make people change, but rather my job is to plant seeds and help my clients water their own soil and cultivate it so they have a thriving environment to grow. I work with children (from the age of 5), adolescents, and adults. I offer individual, couple and family therapy.

I have extensive training in trauma-informed therapies.
I am a registered Clinical Psychologist and I am passionate about my work. I am inspired by diversity and the strength of the human psyche. Every day brings new people into my life that enriches me as a person and therapist. The relationship I have with my patient is of great importance to me. My aim is to help the individuals find a sense of self amongst the disarray of their symptoms. The self so easily gets misrepresented by symptoms and the true person does not have a voice. I want help you to find your voice! Let me join you in your process.

Struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, or internal conflict can leave you feeling confused, fatigued, numb, and unmotivated, leading to self-sabotage.
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) or unresolved childhood trauma can significantly impact adulthood, damaging quality of life and relationships. Through Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), individuals can access the root cause of their issues via the subconscious mind, rewiring, and recoding their thoughts for a transformed way

In the more than 30 years of working with people from all walks of life, I know that we all have a need to live a life of meaning and purpose. Our day to day journey is seldom without challenges – emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Each of these challenges have a lesser, or more severe impact on the quality of our life - on the way we feel about ourselves, regarding our relationship with others and our spiritual growth. Although we do not always want to admit it, we all are wounded in some way. I do believe that the best gift you can give yourself in life, is to strive and work towards becoming the person you are meant to

I support clients across the lifespan, addressing trauma, anxiety, identity, life transitions, and behavioural challenges.
As a qualified Counselling Psychologist, I believe therapy to be a space where healing meets possibility - a place where the parts of your story that are often left in the footnotes are brought to the center, seen, and honored. I aim to create a space that is culturally attuned, socially conscious, and responsive - where every aspect of your identity is recognized and valued. For me, therapy is about exploring your inner world and the social contexts that shape your experiences, gaining clarity, insight, and moving toward growth, resilience, and wholeness.

In a safe and supportive space, I invite you to explore whatever you're going through. I listen deeply and carefully, and in addition to talk counselling, art materials are available if you'd like a new way to connect with your feelings. I've also come to see that sharing our experiences can make even the biggest challenges feel less overwhelming. When we connect authentically and find a sense of balance together, what once seemed impossible can become a real possibility. Together, we can gently identify what feels like a roadblock and discover practical steps to manage stress and conflict in a way that truly fits for you.

I am mentored to do trauma-informed counselling and have a lot of patience and compassion for those who have experienced trauma.
An ideal client would be anyone who wants to be assisted - who wants someone to listen to them. Whether you are feeling hopeless, angry, confused or just need guidance. Anyone who needs a safe space to vent thoughts and feelings - you are welcome. I do well with young adults as well as young children. Children under the age of 12 would have to be seen in person. Between the ages of 12-18 I will have to get parental consent to counsel online. I assist individuals as well as families. With children under 12 I focus mostly on sand play therapy and emotional regulation.

I work with clients who may be struggling with trauma that has deeply impacted their lives, whether it's rooted in childhood experiences, relationships, or other significant life events.
Life, from time to time, can become a struggle for all of us, and often we feel the desire to reach out for some understanding or companionship. However, we still live in an age where seeking support or help is often regarded as a sign of weakness. I believe the complete opposite. To seek out help and support in your darkest hours in order to better understand yourself and overcome your difficulties is a sign of true bravery and courage. By reaching out, you take the first courageous step toward healing, growth, and reclaiming your inner strength.

EFT/Matrix Reimprinting is a powerful form of mind-body energy therapy that releases the trapped or blocked energies lying at the root of trauma and other emotional problems.
Effective therapy offers us real healing and transformation. It happens through expanded awareness, as we learn how to awaken to our unconscious purposes and the internal blocks that hold us back. We let go of the instinctual coping mechanisms that have formed our identity and begin to access our authentic, Divine Self. We become empowered with a sense of freedom and confidence - able to see new possibilities. My holistic approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy with EFT/Matrix Reimprinting energy healing to achieve the healing, growth and transformation you want in your life. See my website for client testimonials.

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
