Ashleigh completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Nelson Mandela University in 2018. Upon completion, she joined a team of district therapists at The Eastern Cape Department of Education, ESSS section. Here she was not only assisting learners with special educational needs but also providing support to the family members. Ashleigh welcomed her first child into the world and became a stay-at-home mom for the first two years of his life while continuing her Honours in Counseling Psychology at UNISA. I started studying BA Psychology at Nelson Mandela University in 2014. I then went on to do my BPsych degree which included a 6 month internship. After graduation I took on a post at a remedial school where I was teaching the foundation phase class. This gave me a lot of insight into children with special needs. My time at the school allowed me to complete my registration with the Health Professions Counsel of South Africa (HPCSA), Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) as well as registering myself with some medical aids. I have recently moved into private practice and have thoroughly enjoyed working with all my clients so far.
