I hold at my core a few principles which I bring to a therapeutic space. This first is without judgment – Each person experiences events in their lives in their own way, and I do not believe in imposing my own beliefs on others. I believe the therapist and patient are fellow travelers on a journey together where both parties contribute to the therapeutic process. I conduct myself in an honest and transparent manner to ensure that I remain professional and ethical in all that I undertake to do. I believe each patient’s individuality requires a tailor-made intervention that speaks to that person’s need - not a one size fits all view.
I am trained in multiple talk therapies and see the value these models bring to the space. However, I am particularly interested in trauma and have furthered my training extensively in this direction. Research has shown the debilitating effect trauma can have on a person's well-being, and with science-based approaches, these ailments can be alleviated.
Approaching a psychologist may be difficult for some people, and I understand and appreciate the vulnerability some may feel when reaching out. I recognize what a privilege it is to share and witness the intimate and meaningful journey that therapy provides for my patients.
