I am an HPCSA registered clinical psychologist based in Pretoria, South Africa. I work with adults and adolescents (12 years and older) and conduct individual, couples and family psychotherapy. I have a special interest in the following areas: Depression, anxiety, bereavement & loss, trauma, burnout, relationship distress/difficulties, addiction, and personality disorders.
I work primarily from a psychodynamic framework with a special interest in attachment-based therapy and self-psychology. I don't believe in a “one size fits all” approach. I focus on tailoring interventions to meet each client's unique needs and utilise my training in a variety of therapeutic modalities to best accommodate each client.
I provide clients with a safe space to give voice to their psychological distress as a way to alleviate suffering. I place significant emphasis on the importance of relationships, the ones we have with ourselves and others. I believe relationships provide us with the context to understand ourselves better and can be powerful catalysts for change.
