Huma Sikandar Fatakia, LPC
Huma Sikandar Fatakia, LPC, is a holistic trauma therapist and couples counselor based in Washington, D.C. She specializes in interracial relationships, complex developmental trauma, relational trauma, EMDR, and perinatal mental health, with a deep passion for multiculturalism. Huma has been featured in several media outlets, including WUSA’s morning show GetUpDC and This Miraculous Life podcast, where she discusses how current events impact mental health at the individual, couple, family, and community levels.
She is also the Founder and CEO of Sage & Fifth Therapy Place, a mindfulness-based holistic psychotherapy group practice based in Washington, D.C. Huma has also served as a co-instructor and guest lecturer at the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University, teaching Counseling Theories and Clinical Practice. Before transitioning to the mental health field, she spent years working across Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, where her experiences with diverse cultures and global corporate teams deepened her interest in multiculturalism and cross-cultural psychology.
