Benefits of Medication-Assisted Treatment
At Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), we offer medication-assisted treatment, or MAT, for adults age 18 and older who have developed opioid addictions. An evidence-based approach to treating opioid addiction, MAT combines prescription medication and counseling to help patients withdraw from opioids and maintain lasting recovery. While some methadone clinics may offer one type of medication to help relieve withdrawal symptoms and ease opioid cravings, our CTC can provide methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, and naltrexone for patients. In addition to helping people stop opioid use and avoid relapse, these medications can allow people to function more easily in daily life and in treatment. At Winston-Salem CTC, the treatment process can include individual and group therapy sessions led by trained professionals. Participating in these counseling sessions can help you address the mental and emotional challenges of recovery and plan for a healthier future. In our outpatient MAT program, you can also continue to participate in your regular activities and commitments while you receive treatment. What to Expect
Opioid addiction can affect everyone differently, so at Winston-Salem CTC, we take a personalized approach to each person’s treatment. This process will typically start when we create your individualized treatment plan. Your treatment plan will include the medication type and dosage and counseling services you may receive during your time in MAT, and it will be based on your individual needs. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), MAT is effective because it incorporates counseling as part of a holistic treatment approach. At Winston-Salem CTC, we provide individual and group counseling sessions that can support patients’ unique recovery needs. In individual therapy, you can explore factors that might have led you to abuse opioids and receive focused support and feedback from your counselor. In group sessions, you can connect with other people who are receiving MAT and share support with one another. Our Comprehensive Treatment Center
Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, our CTC offers a comprehensive treatment experience that can prepare patients for long-term recovery from opioid addictions. We understand that seeking opioid addiction treatment can be a courageous and difficult decision, so we aim to welcome prospective patients into our treatment center with a straightforward admissions process. We will begin with an intake appointment, where our staff can learn about your goals and treatment history. We will also assess your health, history of drug use, and current drug use to determine the medication that may be most appropriate for you. As patients progress through MAT, it can be helpful for them to play an active role in their treatment. We encourage each patient to be curious, committed, and engaged during treatment because we think that this approach can help them achieve success now and in the future. Take the first step to help.
