Windhorse is a semi-residential program for adults experiencing life-disrupting mental states, with three locations in the US (Oregon, California, and Massachusetts). Inspired by the vision that psychiatric recovery is possible, Windhorse Integrative Mental Health has been a leader in personalized, compassionate care for over 30 years. The foundational principle of our treatment is healing through relationship and community. Windhorse addresses what is missing in most institutional settings. Our clients experience:

—Living with a therapeutic housemate in a two-bedroom apartment or house in the community. —40+ hours per week of one-on-one time with their personalized therapeutic team. —A mindfulness-informed therapeutic team consisting of 5-7 members highly customized to meet the needs of the client. —Client-centered model: clients collaborate with their team to design their own treatment path. —Client families are intrinsic members of the team and have an option for family therapy or dialogical family work. —A non-institutional therapeutic program with a focus on interpersonal connection and mutual recovery rather than isolation and pathology. —An abundance of welcoming social groups that are not mandatory but are available to all clients. —A focus on holistic health that includes one’s home life, diet and exercise, education, relationships, and more. —Dynamic levels of support that can be increased or decreased depending on current and changing needs. —Authentic relationships formed at Windhorse that provide a bridge for building a meaningful life of increasing independence in the surrounding neighborhood.
