THE PROGRAM- Eating Disorder, Alcohol & Substances

The treatment Staff at WD Recovery and Wellness Center has been providing high quality clinical programs for over 20 years. It is our mission to help save the lives of those suffering from addictions in our specialized programming and groups. The eating disorder, alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder and other addictive disorders have each have unique programming. The primary purpose of WD Recovery and wellness Center is to treat the dysfunctional behavior in a supportive environment. A staff of caring and experienced professionals, many who are recovering themselves, assist the affected individual and family in developing a lifelong program for recovery. We recognize the complexity of the disorder and understand the medical, psychological, physical, and nutritional aspects of eating and addictive disorders. Our treatment approach is centered on the special needs of each individual and we are completely committed to help individuals achieve recovery. The treatment consists of experienced professionals, physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, family counselors, dietitians, exercise counselors, and nurses who assist the individual and family through the program. Through the utilization of a multi-disciplinary approach, the individuals learn to love and respect themselves and to form positive relationships with their family.

Philosophy

Willpower alone does not work because it's a disease. Millions of Americans suffer from food and substance related addictions Their lives are controlled. The alcohol and substances provides "blinders" or control over ones feelings. The food nurtures or comforts feelings. The eating disorder being the most lethal of all psychiatric disorders. Gaining or losing weight becomes the focus of their existence. They often feel guilty, isolated, depressed and ashamed. They may be compulsively overeating, binge purging, or starving themselves. All of the them have one thing in common. They are suffering from an eating disorder, which can be fatal if left untreated. With professional support, lifelong recovery and freedom from an eating disorder, alcohol use, substance use disorders resolution can be achieved. The key to recovery is to understand the cause of the self-destructive behaviors and to acquire the tools to facilitate the necessary changes. This is the core of WD Recovery and Wellness Centers philosophy. We believe that the disorder, has acted as a survival mechanism to help the individual cope with their life. We not only address the mistaken beliefs but also teach each individual new coping techniques to handle life's situations.

IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT YOU'RE NOT ALONE WE CAN HELP

Most treatment programs utilize a reward and punishment system. They take away all your belongings, cell phones, and other things to trap you into their treatment programs. We do not utilize such systems because they are ineffective. Individuals with eating disorders, alcohol use, substance use have spent enough time punishing themselves already. WD Recovery and Wellness Centers approach is centered on the individual. All aspects of the individual's life are explored and addressed in a supportive environment. We do not concentrate solely on the symptoms of the eating disorder, dieting, drugs and or alcohol. Instead, individual, family and group counseling as well as nutritional guidance, exercise training, and educational sessions are all combined to create the path towards recovery. Upon admission to the program a complete one on one assessment process begins. From these evaluations, an individualized treatment plan is developed, which sets the path for the specific direction of the treatment. The treatment team meets weekly to discuss and update each individual's treatment plan. We believe the individual is an integral part of the treatment team process.
