South Sound Behavioral Hospital's mission is to provide a supportive, compassionate, and innovative environment of patient centered care. Located in Lacey, WA -- South Sound Behavioral Hospital opened its doors in July 2019 to meet the needs of a rapidly growing South Sound region with a 108-bed, state-of-the-art, freestanding psychiatric facility. Nine units provide group-facilitated, short-term specialized treatment for behavioral health and co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance abuse) for adults within a secure unit.

We are a family-owned outpatient clinic focused on TMS treatment for depression, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment of injured workers. Dr. David Penner, MD, founded our clinic to provide high-quality mental health care tailored toward each patient. Our clinic is staffed with highly-trained professionals. We have a dedicated nurse, four registered nurse practitioners, a physician assistant, and a psychiatrist, each with unique backgrounds and experience in the military, community mental health, child and adolescent psychology, and nursing.

We base our evaluations on the individual. A specific diagnosis along with treatment recommendations is offered.
