Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment proven to help teens struggling with emotion dysregulation, self-harming behavior, suicidal ideation, and other mental health issues. Evolve’s Comprehensive DBT residential treatment center is the first of its kind in California and one of only a handful in the entire country. Many of our teens struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, borderline personality disorder, addiction or other high-acuity issues. We offer individual therapy (at least 3 times a week), family therapy (2 times a week, with out-of-state families participating remotely), DBT Skills Training Groups (4 times a week), and skills-coaching (24/7). Teens learn how to practice Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness within a warm, accepting environment. We have one of the highest staff:patient ratios in the nation, serving only six teens at any given time. Our adherence to Comprehensive DBT protocols, trained DBT clinicians, and deep commitment to safety are reasons why thousands of families from all over the country choose Evolve’s DBT treatment center for their teens.

We have made the difficult decision to end our outdoor program operations by April 30th, 2024, and shift our energy toward more accessible options such as residential treatment. Thank you for your support over the years. We have brought healing to over a thousand families since we opened in 2013. We have so many fond memories of the lives saved and improved by the power of our nature-based, relational, trauma informed programming. Over the last couple of years many barriers came up that limited access to our services, including lack of funding sources, a negative spotlight on outdoor therapy, and Oregon legislation. We recognize that students and families are in need. Our community fought admirably to limit these barriers and bring the highest quality of mental health care to our young people and families.

Evolve Treatment Centers specializes in teens ages 12-17 struggling with dual diagnosis, high-risk/self-harm behaviors, suicidal ideation, and other mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral issues. At Evolve Danville, teens live on-site in a comfortable home for an average of 30-60 days and receive round-the-clock support and treatment.
