Bellingham Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Bellingham, Washington, offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are suffering from addictions to opioids, including heroin and prescription painkillers. MAT programs combine the use of prescription medication with counseling support, helping patients end opioid use and build a foundation for long-term recovery. MAT is research-supported and recommended by respected organizations like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as an effective form of opioid addiction treatment. When you participate in our outpatient MAT program, you can receive a prescription for methadone or buprenorphine — medications that can relieve the powerful symptoms and cravings that are associated with opioid withdrawal. By reducing the distressing symptoms of withdrawal, MAT medications can support patients as they navigate the treatment process. Six units provide group-facilitated, short-term specialized treatment for behavioral health and co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance abuse) for both adults and adolescents within a secure unit.
