The Volpicelli Center Treatment Philosophy
Addiction is a multilayered and complex condition. It is a physical, psychological, social, and very personal behavioral disorder. There are many treatment options offered by programs with very different treatment philosophies. All of this can make recovery seem daunting. At a time when the chance of drug overdose for people under 50 is higher that the chance of dying from COVID, we believe that all evidence-based treatment options should be offered. At our center we offer cutting edge addiction treatments led by our founder, Joseph Volpicelli MD, PhD. During his time as a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, he developed naltrexone to treat people with alcohol addiction. He also developed and wrote a book on how to best integrate psychosocial treatment with medications.
