Individualized Approach & Evidence-Based Practices

Recognizing that addiction is a chronic disease and recovery is a new way of living, treatment at Turnbridge Westport is collaborative, individualized, and occurs over the long-term through a continuum of support and care. Program expectations and goals are designed to ensure clients have the best opportunity to learn, change and heal - moving from clinical care to self-care - at their own pace. With this expectation in mind, we have developed our programs to help clients learn about the disease of addiction and understand and implement lifestyle changes necessary to maintain sobriety.

Taking the First Step

In many cases, Turnbridge is the first contact a family has with a treatment provider. When a potential client, their family member, employer, or school contacts us, one of our addictions counseling staff will conduct an initial assessment. Level of care recommendations are part of the initial assessment. Our patient-centered treatment planning and continuum of care is individualized for each client and their family.

Treatment Services

We offer an evidence-based approach to treatment that incorporates recovery oriented support networks, motivational interviewing, 12-Step facilitation, relapse prevention and a long-term approach to continuing care. Services include Comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Assessment & Evaluations for teens, young adults, and adults; Patient-Centered Individual Counseling; Family Counseling; Intensive Outpatient Program: IOP clients come to groups three days per week and receive frequent drug screens. Groups are centered around a positive peer culture including coping skills, the importance of sober activities and the development of a recovery action plan. Parents of children in the IOP program can attend a regualr family group which provides an opportunity to meet other parents and develop their support network.
