Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Starlite Recovery Center provides an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to alcohol, opioids, and other substances at two locations in Texas: Kerrville and New Braunfels. This level of care is designed to serve people who can benefit from structured clinical services but do not need full days of treatment or round-the-clock support. Our IOP may be an ideal option for people who need step-down support after completing a residential or inpatient program. Depending on their unique needs, adults may also enter treatment with us directly at the IOP level. Participants attend IOP sessions three hours per day, three days per week. For the convenience of our clients, we offer both morning and evening sessions. Most people remain in the program for about eight weeks. In addition to providing flexibility, our IOP schedule also allows clients to learn new skills and then practice them in real-world situations. When they are not participating in treatment, IOP clients may go to work, attend school, and otherwise engage in a healthy independent lifestyle. Treatment Approach
At Starlite Recovery Center, we are committed to providing each person with the type and level of care that best meets their specific needs. This focus on personalized care is a fundamental feature of our IOP. Prior to starting treatment, new clients complete a thorough assessment so that we can develop a customized plan to guide their care. Group therapy is the main method of treatment in our IOP, with each day including multiple groups. Groups are safe and supportive spaces where people can gain valuable information about addiction and recovery. During groups, clients can also practice new skills and share support with others who are working to gain a solid foothold in early recovery. Depending on the needs of the participants, groups may incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), relapse prevention education, and the Seeking Safety recovery model. IOP clients also take part in one individual therapy session per week, and family sessions may be scheduled as needed. What to Expect
Adults who participate in Starlite’s intensive outpatient program work with skilled professionals in a safe and welcoming environment. They can also expect to be treated with dignity. We realize that many people who seek treatment for addiction are also struggling with feelings of shame and guilt, and we make a concerted effort to let all our clients know that they are valuable people who are worthy of respect. In addition to working closely with the members of their treatment team, IOP clients can also discover the benefits of sharing support with other members of the recovery community. Isolation can be another devastating effect of untreated addiction, and forming healthy relationships with others can be an essential step on the path to recovery. Each person who receives care in our IOP will have a unique experience that is based on their individual needs and goals, but our general objective for all clients is to help them develop the skills they need to resist relapse and live a healthy life in recovery.
